MMA: 20 Great Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Favorite Fan
So rather than being in fight week, we're instead about four days away from Christmas Eve, and I'm sure you're just organizing the gifts you've gotten under your tree.
What's that? You DIDN'T get anyone anything for Christmas??
Never fear, for it just so happens that I've been in that boat, and I've also managed to cook up some ideas on what to get your beloved and other family members this Christmas.
If you're not a fan of these ideas, you could always improvise and just make your loved ones something.
After all, nothing says "Happy Holidays!" like something you made yourself...
For The One With The Good Riddum

Why not head over to cafepress.com and hook your loved one up with a nice 25-dollar shirt that shows some solid appreciation for that one fighter they like?
With this all-white, simple, and full-of-love shirt that says "I heart GSP" you're sure to get 25 minutes worth of time alone with your loved one.
Whether that 25 minutes is sheer lay-and-pray or intensified action is dependent on which loved one you give this to and how they react to the shirt.
For His Or Her Little Babyfaced Assassin-In-Training-Diapers

Cafe Press is your spot for a cavalcade of gifts this season, and they'll even have your baby looking like the pound-for-pound queen or king of the babies' division!
Honestly, would YOU want to go three to five rounds with a tot that wears something like this?
I'd be lucky to make it out of round one with that little infant if they wore this.
With an infant bodysuit like this, does it really matter that you have to be at least 12 or 13 to even look DECENT in any MMA Elite or Affliction-type gear?
I don't think so.
For The One With The High-Class Mentality

Some people just don't impress, so get them something that speaks to their personality.
The shirt should speak for itself.
For The Video Game Addicts: A Trip Around The World

EA Sports' MMA can give you the taste of the world that we all know you've talked about giving to your family tree.
Remember, that trip that none of y'all could afford?
Well, y'all can now!
EA Sports' MMA gives you the feel of being around the world, fighting your way to the top of the MMA world one fight at a time against the best international array of fighters around the world.
The best part?
You only need to cough up around 25 to 35 dollars to catch the experience firsthand!
Hey, good stuff ain't cheap, ya know...
... Or Maybe a Trip Into Familiar Territory

UFC Undisputed 2010. Enough said, or is it?
Now, you're not getting Randy Couture, Fedor Emelianenko, or Alistair Overeem as playable characters in this one, but you are getting some of the UFC's best.
Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones, Nate Diaz, Brock Lesnar...they're all here and they're all ready for you to play as them.
'Tis the season to be jolly, as nothing completes the feeling of being in a Winter Wonderland quite like a virtual Yuletide beatdown.
For The MMA Intellectual...

Forrest Griffin is not only the man responsible for the breakthrough of modern-day MMA, and he's not only a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion...one who will fight Rich Franklin at UFC 126.
It's not that much of common knowledge, but Griffin is actually one of the most intelligent men in the sport.
Don't believe it?
Check out the bestseller that has made the TUF 1 alumnus into something of a renaissance man in the sport, Got Fight?
Forrest shares his infinite wisdom with you and teaches you many principles of hand-to-hand combat, including the deadliest technique he knows.
It's around 16 bucks if you get the book off of Amazon.com and you can pillage your neighborhood bookstores for the book if you can't get it on Amazon.
If the bookstores don't sell it, then find the guy who runs said bookstore and give him the Asian Dart.
Of Course, You Can't Forget The MMA Historian
7 of 21
For the one who is a bit of a history geek, you've got a few options.
There's Chuck Liddell's "Iceman: My Fighting Life," Randy Couture's "Becoming The Natural" and the book "Made In America" which entails the journey of Matt Hughes from the country to the cage and the ranks of the sport's best P4P fighters,
Of course, then again, you've also got the book which features the inaugural UFC Welterweight Champion, Pat Miletich, and the early days of the UFC.
The book is in limited supply nowadays, so Google up "Blood In The Cage" to see where you can get your meat-hooks on this literary masterpiece.
For The One That's Tired Of "Talking About It" and Wanting To "Be About It"
8 of 21
Everyone's seen the Youtube tough-guy...the guy who goes on video after video of MMA and says "he's not that strong" or "I can whip his ass" and all that trash talk.
How about doing something about it?
That's where BJ Penn comes in and gives you the guide to every MMA technique he knows.
The Damn Good Guard, the correct way to Box in the cage, the omoplata, and a whole lot more techniques comprise of this book.
If you Google up BJ Penn's Book Of Knowledge, most online spots have it for about $22 a pop, while any nearby spots will hook it up for $35.
If it helps you at least appreciate the ground game of a fighter more than it did when you read this, then The Prodigy probably did something right besides beating Matt Hughes in 21 seconds and holding the UFC Lightweight belt from UFC 84 to UFC 112.
For The Fashionable One Who Thinks With A Fat Wallet
9 of 21
So your fan is a type that tends to be the "big spender," per se.
If it costs 50 bucks at least, they want it and they won't rest until they get it.
Okay, so break out that fat leathery thing you call a wallet and head on over to your neighborhood Buckle store if you can't get to the stuff online without risking the possibility of not getting your product until after Christmas.
Buckle, for those who don't know, is a clothing store that specializes in today's most stylish forms of modern apparel, and Affliction is one of their most popular brands.
While the gear is usually high quality, the prices can run as low as $58 an item and as high as $700 an item.
I would only suggest this as a gift if you can afford it.
For The Fashionable One That Thinks Within His Pretty-Decent Budget

Silver Star's clothes run normally for $30 or more when the gear is fresh off the press, but they've marked down the prices on some of their best sellers and made it to where the cost online runs at almost the same as it would if you were getting an Xtreme Couture shirt or a Throwdown shirt at Spencer's.
If you're going to own one clothing brand aside from Tapout, make it Silver Star this holiday season.
For The Blue-Collar MMA Fan, and I DO Mean MMA FAN
11 of 21For the real MMA fan and not the dude who wears it because he thinks it makes him look tough as nails all around, all you need is a range of 20 to 40 bucks and a good idea of where the nearest Spencer's Gifts or Champs' Sports is.
They can hook you up with some of their hottest sellers at the lowest prices, so long as you as "Where's the Tapout?"
They don't call it "an expression of combat known worldwide" just to sell the shirts, ya know.
For The Traditionalists, The Teachers, The Enthusiasts and The Students

Will a true Martial Artist reveal the tricks of his trade?
Where did the idea come up that says Martial Arts equals self-defense?
Does our little sport prioritize bloodshed over skill?
These three questions and more are answered in Sulaiman Sharif's book of the 50 most debated myths in the history of Martial Arts, which you can find at your neighborhood Barnes & Noble.
You won't know the truth behind these questions until you read the book...
(On a totally unrelated note, I fail to see why some would say MMA prioritizes bloodshed if every major fighter we cover in our community is emphasized based on their skill rather than their ability to make someone bleed.)
For The Casual Fan Who Is Hopefully Still a Fan Of MMA
13 of 21
Remember what I said about how Silver Star's prices were marked down to where the prices are now anywhere from 10 to 29 dollars, the price you'd likely pay for an Xtreme Couture shirt or a Throwdown shirt at Spencer's?
Well, it turns out the brand of the former UFC Heavyweight Champion does well enough to let you pay about the same range of money for either one of his shirts, with the shirts including the sponsors ranging from $39.99 to $59.99
The best part?
You don't pay for shipping if your total order costs around $100!
You can call the DeathClutch crew at the following number for more info:

For The Kid at Heart
14 of 21
If you're like me, you probably SAY you've given away a bunch of your action figures, you're growing up and breaking out into the world, blah blah blah.
Yeah right...you're a kid at heart, dude!
You probably don't say "dude" as much as I do, but still, you're a kid at heart and you probably still have some of your old action figures still around your place somewhere.
If that's you, then you'll be enthused to learn that JAKKS Pacific is now the distributor of the UFC's new line of action figures for you or your kids (and what kids say "no" to an action figure of a guy that likes to fight?)
You've got the late Evan Tanner in this series, as well as Frank Mir, Houston Alexander, Forrest Griffin, Miguel Torres, Michael Bisping and (to nobody's surprise) Chuck Liddell, plus Brock Lesnar, Kevin Randleman, Keith Jardine, Rashad Evans and others in the series.
If you think they won't be busting them out at Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us this Christmas, trust me -- they will.
Wal-Mart has everything, and Toys-R-Us is the mecca, the alpha, and the omega of toy stores in America, so don't be surprised unless the Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us near you ISN'T selling them at all.
For The Kid Obssessed With MTV... Or The Newlyweds
15 of 21If you haven't heard by now, Bellator is coming to MTV2 come next year and they'll be on MTV2 for the next three years.
Good deal?
I should say so, considering that the FOX Sports Networks never aired a good portion of last season's events.
MTV2 is slated to air the fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons of Bellator in the upcoming two years, which is good news for all MMA fans because some of the sport's best action sometimes comes from Bellator.
So if your favorite fan has been bugging you about getting MTV or MTV2 for any reason BESIDES the Jan. 6 season premiere of Jersey Shore, then I say give that person MTV2 as part of the cable packages that are offered by either Direct Tv, Dish Network, or Time Warner Cable.
OR...maybe your favorite fan just tied the knot and will be needing a good cable package to enjoy when they aren't slaving over the stuff they have to move in to their new abode.
In which case, I reiterate my previous statement.
MTV2, the only good choice for YOU.
For Your Favorite "Bad Influence"
16 of 21Definitely would recommend a trip for 2+ to Las Vegas, Nev., and if possible, two or more tickets for you, your crew (maybe), and that one person who fully convinces you day in and day out that The Hangover was based on your life.
Why the extra tickets?
UFC 125 next Saturday, duh!
Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, Chris Leben and Brian Stann, Clay Guida and Takanori Gomi...what more could you ask for?
Well for that...I was S.O.L.
I ran out of original ideas for the other gifts to get your favorite fan this year and I decided to ask for help.
Here to provide that help, and some badass predictions for the event upcoming, is Joanne of MMA Girls.com.
For The Guy Who Loves a Good Fight

You know the guys that are on the cover of the new "Best of WEC" DVD.
The most prominent Bantamweight name, Miguel Angel Torres, and the former Lightweight king Ben Henderson...
The UFC pioneer Jens Pulver and the former Featherweight king Urijah Faber....
All that's missing is your mitts.
It knows you have that one fan in your mind -- the one that is as much a Zuffa fan as anyone else.
It knows that as much as you kiss up to the UFC, it knows you know that the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions are where it's at right now in MMA.
It knows you want to see how guys like Brian Stann and Brandon Vera came up before they saw themselves where they are now, with almost one week to go before UFC 125.
This DVD isn't staying on the shelves for long, buddy, so why not camp out in front of your local video store and make sure that the hands that touch the last copy of this historic DVD are yours?
For The Guy Who Still Calls Martial Arts "Kung Fu Fighting"
18 of 21
So you have an MMA fan who is a bit more...casual, per se, than even the casual fan of the sport.
They don't know much about MMA, they don't know too much about Brock Lesnar (surprisingly), but they at least know a tidbit about the art of Kung Fu...the Chinese Martial Arts.
I would recommend Bloodsport, except it's a given that Bloodsport is subject to appointment viewing and therefore does not need to be bought as a token addition to one's movie collection.
It'd make you the most awesome person in the world to have Bloodsport in your collection, but then again, our friends at Amazon.com have yet another hook up for you.
What you're looking at is the cover of a 50-movie collection of Martial Arts films, not only featuring the legendary Bruce Lee, but also actors Lee Van Cleef, Richard Harrison, Fred Williamson, a posthumous stunt actor who worked under the name "Bruce Li,", and the incredible Sonny Chiba.
Amazon.com will let your favorite "Kung Fu Fighting" fan enjoy this for $23.99 if you order now.
For The Fan Of Some Serious Fighting
19 of 21The organization that, once upon a time, was the stomping grounds for two of the UFC's current champions, as well as the once-unstoppable phenom known as Fedor Emelianenko, The Axe Murderer known as Wanderlei Silva, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, among others.
Now, the UFC has absorbed the PRIDE Fighting Championships but you can still give your favorite fan a chance to drool over a few beautiful slugfests.
Check out the prices that Overstock.com has for the PRIDE collection of DVDs and check a few out for your favorite fan of serious slugging and all-around wars.
Last But Not Least, For Every MMA Fan...

NO, it's not the lovely miss Jayden Jaymes, who was once rumored to be dating Chuck Liddell and can now be seen in Youtube videos next to the likes of Cole Miller and Tyson Griffin.
Although if she retweets this with a smile on Twitter, I'll be a happy panda this Christmas :-)
Just kidding, but seriously, she and Chuck are buddies, as are her and Magrinho and Tyson.
Anyways, the last gift you ought to consider getting for any loved one this year...?
Seriously, Anything Involving This Girl = AWESOME GIFT!
21 of 21I would actually recommend the cardboard cutouts of this girl, just for starters, because it may be a little bit over the edge to have the parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles looking at you while you watch your relative feverishly tear open that one wrapped gift and discover that it's a box containing a magazine that features that one girl in all her glory.
You know, the one that can sing, interview your favorite fighter, throw a mean punch, smile once just so you'll forget that you're actually at work, go to prom, and above all else, do everything she does naturally all for fans like you?
Yeah, that one...we'll call her Arianny Celeste.
Anything that has anything to do with Arianny Celeste, I would recommend getting...just make sure your girlfriend doesn't get her hands on it (if you're taken).
If she does, you'll pay for it later. No pun intended.
Though that girlfriend of yours might lay a bit of punishment on you...
