NBA Trade Rumors: The Latest on Andre Iguodala, Carmelo Anthony and Others
With a couple months left to go before the trade deadline, teams are starting to take shape. After having similar records the first month, the Heat and Cavs have went in opposite directions, closer to the consensus records for them rather than both near .500.
In the midst of this, trade rumors continue to boil. The usual suspects are being discussed, as always, including Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, and others. Where both of these players will fall before the trading deadline continues to be the cause of speculation, and others have been having that same fate as their names pop up as trade bait.
Andre Iguodala
1 of 10
Iguodala had a rough night last night, scoring eight points on 2-of-9 shooting. He was the only starter now to score double digits despite playing 40 minutes. This more than anything symbolizes that Iguodala is not and will ever be a number one franchise player, which the 76ers have tried to make him.
He would be a great number two option on a team, though, and as a result, they have to trade him. The question is where. Would any team take a 26-year old small forward who can make it happen some days? I don't see why not, especially if they know they have no shot at Carmelo. Teams will start signaling their desire to acquire him soon enough.
Carmelo Anthony

Now here's the highlight story of the day. After torching the Magic for 35 points, a Carmelo Anthony to the Nets trade was reported, but later squashed. That's not where the highlight comes in.
Rather, the Nets traded Terrence Williams in a three-player deal and acquired Sasha Vujacic and two draft picks. According to many sources, this trade was made in part to sweeten a deal that would bring Anthony to the Nets. Could the Knicks no longer be the frontrunners? That's a story to keep an eye on.
Derrick Favors

After getting his second double-double of the season last night, the rookie has suddenly become a key piece in trade talks, particularly involving Carmelo Anthony. Would the Nets be willing to trade a promising star rookie for a proven star veteran? It's possible, though it's also too soon to tell.
Hedo Turkoglu
4 of 10
Turkoglu went from being solid in Orlando to being not so great in Toronto and Phoenix. Yes, he shoots threes, but the Suns need someone who can rebound, and with Hedo struggling to adjust to Phoenix, he would be the easy person to trade.
If the Magic continue to suddenly struggle, could he make a return? You never know.
Rudy Fernandez
5 of 10
I'm actually surprised Fernandez's name is being tossed around as rarely as it is. We've seen this season that he clearly has the tools to perform, but he's not utilizing them in Portland. He's making barely a third of his shots, so of course Portland's going to want to trade him.
There is a possible trade that involves him and an underachiever this year that probably makes sense for both sides. The person?
O.J. Mayo
6 of 10
An O.J. Mayo for Rudy Fernandez trade could work if Fernandez was up to actually performing with the Grizzlies. We all know by now that Mayo is struggling this season, although in their last meetup, Fernandez went 1-7 while Mayo had 14 points off the bench.
The Grizzlies have called rumors of trading Mayo speculation, but along with Hasheem Thabeet, it could be a package a team would be willing to take a shot on.
J.R. Smith
7 of 10
Denver's streaky shooter has been a hot trading chip lately. Some of it is due, naturally, either to him being lumped in with Carmelo or to bring in players that would be able to work well in the post-Carmelo era. Just recently, the Nuggets have talked with the Bulls about a trade involving J.R. Smith.
Given that Smith's contract is also expiring, expect him to go even before Melo.
Vince Carter
8 of 10
Suddenly, it seems there's a curveball in this equation. According to RealGM, the Magic have the option to buy out Carter's contract for next season at a bargain. If the Magic do this, then it'll be obvious that he's used as trade bait in an effort to push the Magic over the top.
J.J. Hickson
9 of 10
As a Cavs fan, I would be quite angry if Hickson was shipped out. Nonetheless, he has been at odds with head coach Byron Scott, and his planned breakthrough season has not happened. Beyond that, he's probably the Cavs' most valuable piece on the open market.
It's too early to tell who the Cavs will trade, but the fact that Hickson has now been making the rounds of speculation means no one is safe.
Chris Paul
10 of 10
In the Hornets' latest game against the Heat, they lost while Chris Paul went 3-10. Every time that Chris Paul has a bad game or the Hornets lose on the road, speculation will jump around a bit. I stand by my belief that he's not going anywhere this year, but with each passing day you know more trade ideas will pop up, and some may be very good.
