
Tony Stewart's Stunning "Stewie" Awards Highlight NASCAR Moments in 2010
There was a less official awards ceremony during Champions Week in Las Vegas when Tony Stewart hosted his fourth annual "Stewie Awards" at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Fans vote for their choice out of multiple events listed under each category with the "Golden Stewie" being awarded to a person chosen by Stewart and co-host Matt Yocum.
The two-time NASCAR Cup Champion and Yocum exchanged banter and laughter with interesting guests including an "Elvis" of sorts, some Vegas beauties and others. Delana Harvick accompanied her husband Kevin Harvick, with the Harvick name being mentioned in the awards.
A live audience was present for the always entertaining awards and it was also broadcast on Sirius XM Satellite radio. Sirius XM is NASCAR's official broadcast partner for NASCAR's top-three series of racing and dedicates channel 128 to NASCAR all day everyday.

Best Original Drama

The Best Original Drama honors the year's most dramatic moment or sequence.
Clint Bowyer won the Sylvania 300 race at Loudon, but then failed inspection post-race for not meeting specifications. With the win he had moved to second in points after an 88-race winless streak, but was then docked 150 points, taking him back to 12th in the standings and virtually out of contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup title.
Best Stunt Sequence

The Best Stunt Sequence is also known as the Hal Needham award for the year's most spectacular crash.
During the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono, Elliott Sadler went head-on into a old guard rail and earthen berm that jutted out into a run off area with no SAFER barrier. Sadler recorded one of the hardest hits in NASCAR history with the engine flying out of his car. Fortunately the driver was able to crawl from the car and lay on the track. He was sore, but basically as a result of NASCAR's safety measures with the car he was not injured.
Best Original Comedy

Best Original Comedy honors the year's most entertaining moment.
Kevin Harvick sent Joey Logano spinning at Pocono. In a post-race interview Logano ripped into Harvick and said, "His wife wears the firesuit in the family and tells him what to do." The comment was a media sensation and Harvick's wife, Delana Harvick, took it all in stride and made T-Shirts that read "I wear the firesuit in this family."
Bonehead Move of the Year

The Bonehead Move of the Year is somewhat self-explanatory.
Denny Hamlin put his winning car into the wall, knocking in a front fender during his post-race burnout.
"Feel Like the First Time"

"Feels Like the First Time" recognizes the most notable "first" of the season.
Chip Ganassi became the first team owner to win three of the most coveted races in motorsports. He won the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis with NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Jamie McMurray. He won the Indianapolis 500 with IndyCar driver Dario Franchitti.
"Boys, Have At It"

The "Boys, Have At It" award acknowledges the year's most memorable on or off track bumping.
During the spring race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Carl Edwards made a deliberate retaliatory move which caused Brad Keselowski's car to go flipping onto its roof. Edwards was unapologetic, saying only that he didn't mean to flip him. Keselowski called for NASCAR involvement, but after the two were counseled they exited the hauler like buddies.
Best Driver to Crew Chief Chatter

The Best Driver to Crew Chief Chatter award recognizes the most memorable driver to pit crew communication.
Kyle Busch expressed his displeasure with Jimmie Johnson for not allowing him to pass at Martinsville during the fall race.
Best Vocal Performance

The Best Vocal Performance award recognizes the year's most memorable quote.
Kevin Harvick implied Jimmie Johnson, then four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, had a golden horseshoe as part of his anatomy, which accounted for his luck after the race at Fontana in February.
The Golden Stewie

This years winner for the "Golden Stewie" honored Hal Needham, a legendary figure from the Golden Era of racing. Needham was a NASCAR owner, stuntman and film producer/director.
Lifetime Achievement
10 of 10
The Lifetime Achievement Award honored the late Jim Hunter, NASCAR's former Vice President of corporate communications. Hunter passed away in October and his son, Scott, accepted the award.
