LA Galaxy Vs. FC Dallas Preview: Match for MLS Cup Berth

LA Galaxy and FC Dallas will be facing each other tonight for a spot at the MLS Cup. Both teams are part of the MLS Western Conference and have come this far.

The stakes are high for both teams; both will be playing to win. It has not been an easy road for these teams, though, and both know it.

The winner will be facing the victorious Colorado Rapids who have a berth in the MLS Cup after defeating the San Jose Earthquakes.

Let us take a look at the two teams in order to make a prediction.

The LA Galaxy finds itself under heavy pressure to win the MLS Western Conference Championship and face the Colorado Rapids.

The team is home to great personalities such as David Beckham and Landon Donovan and is currently in first place in the MLS Western Conference with 59 points.

It also comes into the game with a 25-18-9 record which is impressive and will have Todd Dunnivan as left back. The rest of the composition of the team will remain the same.

David Beckham has told people that while LA has a chance to win, it must work hard. I agree with him.

The key to a victory for LA would be to find a way not to cede any space to the FC Dallas Offense. It should also concentrate on the weak spots where it can score.

The rest depends on whether LA can shore up its defense.

FC Dallas may have its work cut out for itself, being in third place in the MLS Western Conference with 50 points.

The team is entering the semifinals with a nearly impossible road to victory. What Dallas may have to its advantage is that the side has a 19-game undefeated streak during the 2010 MLS Season.

The next advantage is Atiba Harris (FC Dallas right winger), who will be returning to the field after complying with his red card suspension from the beginning of the MLS Season.

Brek Shea, Daniel Hernandez, Ugo Ihemelu and Kevin Hartman are expected to play in this all important game.

FC Dallas must score early to stun the LA Galaxy, and they must not allow themselves to fall into any situations which could work in favor of LA.

It remains to be seen what will transpire. What we know for sure is that the winner will face the Colorado Rapids.
