Manny Pacquiao May Try To Prolong Fight With Margarito To Entertain Millions
A great majority of boxing critics and fans around the world think Manny Pacquiao is capable to knocking out Antonio Margarito inside five rounds of their November 13 fight at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Some of Pacquiao's avid fans even predict an easy and short three-round battle for the pound-for-pound king.
But the world's most popular boxer said he owes his fans a lot and he intends to give them a good, exciting and entertaining fight.
With deep concern for his millions of fans around the world, Pacquiao may have to "let go" of an opportunity to finish the "Tijuana Tornado" early in the fight and prolong the action up to the later rounds in order to put entertainment into the fight.
Letting go of the opportunity for an early knock out in order to entertain his fans could spell out defeat for the Filipino boxer as Margarito and his trainer Robert Garcia have prepared for an end game attack as part of their strategy.
Garcia even predicted an 11th round knock out for the Mexican boxer. And if Pacquiao elects to prolong the fight, the situation will favor Margarito and it could be a sad ending for the Filipino boxer.
In a teleconference last Thursday, Pacquiao sounds like he is more concerned about giving his fans a good fight.
โTo all the fans, there's nothing to worry about me,โ said Pacquiao, as he dispelled rumors about not being focused on his training for the fight.
โI'm [more] worried how we can give a good fight to the people,โ said the Filipino boxing superstar.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao's friend and compadre Gerry Penalosa, himself a former world WBC flyweigt and WBO bantamweight champion said the
โTeam Pacquiao predicts knockout win in less than 8 rounds... but I will not be surprised if Manny can make it in the earlier rounds,โ said the now retired boxer Peรฑalosa in his Philboxing.com column โFearlessโ.
Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito are set to collide on November 13 at the huge Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Boxing promoter Bob Arum said he expects around 60,000 people coming from different parts of the world to watch the fight.
At stake is the vacant WBC junior middleweight crown.
Pacquiao aims to be the first professional boxer in history to win eight times in as many weight divisions, breaking his current record for winning seven times in as many weight divisions.
