Orozco was unable to deflect the ball and stood by helplessly as Santos Laguna supporters celebrated.

Monterrey recovered from its initial surprise to the equalizer and went on the attack. The result was a shocking goal by Oswaldo David Martinez in minute 48.

Oswaldo Sanchez attempted again to deflect the ball but failed. The crowd reacted with anger and humiliation, as Santos Laguna is one of the top teams of the 2010-2011 Mexican League.

Monterrey was able to play a decent game and defend itself on the home turf of Santos Laguna. The substitutions by the teams appear to have not made any difference.

Santos Laguna could have done better, but their heart was not in the game.

Referee Jorge Gasso evenly distributed the yellow cards for misconduct.

The most valuable player was Oswaldo David Martinez.
