Tennessee Titans-Philadelphia Eagles: Who Has the Edge In This Matchup?
This week the Tennessee Titans welcome one of the best teams in the NFC to LP Field, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles are tied with the Giants for first place in the NFC East. The Titans beat the Giants earlier in the season on the road and have now won 11 straight games against the NFC; they are looking to extend that streak to 12.
The Eagles have shown themselves to be a passing team, duh, just like they try to be every year. They pass first, second and sometimes will throw a run in there. That will help the Titans run defense stats, but the pass defense, which has been subject to giving up yards may suffer a bit.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Tennessee's defense has proved rock solid when it comes to points; they allow quarterbacks to get a lot of yards, but the red zone defense is one of the best in the league.
Expect Kevin Kolb to get a decent amount of passing yards with a couple of interceptions as the Titans pass rush will be harassing him all day. The unit leads the league in sacks and is second in interceptions, which can only mean good things when playing a passing team like the Eagles.
On the offensive side of the ball, it does not look like Vince Young is going to be able to start Sunday, so Kerry Collins will be leading the team. Collins isn't very mobile, but has a good arm and is an excellent pocket passer. With Collins in it seems as though the Titans pass the ball more, which is weird because I believe Young is just as good a pocket quarterback now as Collins is.
When the Titans come out Sunday, I expect them to start with the run for the first time in three weeks. Then they will start passing to keep the safeties out of the box, which will allow Chris Johnson more running lanes and could help him have a big game against a sub-par Eagles run defense. That could be the deciding factor in this game.
With teams doing everything they can to just slow Chris Johnson down, the Titans should have a good day passing and subsequently a great day rushing. Javon Ringer will get a few carries and CJ will hit the 130 mark in this game.
The Eagles dynamic passing game is down its biggest receiver, which will help the Titans keep Maclin, Avant and Celek covered. Don't jump to conclusions thinking that McCoy will have a big game, because chances are he won't even be mentioned Sunday.
With the Titans defense facing the Eagles offense and the Eagles defense trying to stop the Titans offense, I believe this one will be too close for comfort Sunday as Tennessee squeaks out on a Bironas field goal.
