The former welterweight champion of the world traces his depression and related problems after his unofficial retirement following his loss to Pacquiao which temporarily ended his boxing career.
The popular British boxer has not fought since his loss to Pacquiao in May 2009.
Meanwhile, WBA welterweight champion Amir Khan, who is flying to Manila in the next few days to act as Manny Pacquiao's main sparring partner for the upcoming Pacquiao-Margarito match, said he is ready to help Ricky Hatton in whatever way he can.
He said: "Ricky is a very good friend of mine", sun co.uk reports
"I am here to give him any help he needs and I hope he gets over his problems soon."
But Hatton has confirmed he will never lace on another pair of gloves, ditching once and for all the idea of a rematch against Manny Pacquiao.
The Hitman declared: "I know I am never going to fight again, but I know I have to fight this battle and win. I need to move on and find something else in my life, whether it be golf or fishing.
"I feel great shame, but I know I can get myself back on track."
Last week, Pacquiao has reached out to Hatton and wished him well.
"When I learned about Ricky Hatton's addiction to illegal drugs, I felt sad because I considered him a friend. I know he is a kind friend and a joyful person outside the ring.
"I wish Ricky can sort out his own life," Pacquao wrote.
