Fantasy Football Week 2 Rankings: Wide Receivers
Welcome to Week 2 of the NFL season. No more speculation, we finally got a chance to see everyone at work last week, and it should be interesting to see how everyone responds to their Week 1 performance. Some will be trying to live up to huge debuts (Hakeem Nicks, Austin Collie, Mark Clayton), while others will be trying to make up for disappointing outings (Percy Harvin, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Sims-Walker).
The most important thing is not to panic. Remember, fantasy football is a marathon and not a sprint. Just because a player is a dud in Week 1 it doesn’t mean he will continue to struggle moving forward. More personnel developments and an increasingly larger sample size as the season progresses will give us an even better picture of how passing offenses and defenses will perform this year. Now, let’s look at how things will shake out in our Fantasy Football Week 2 Wide Receiver Rankings.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
1. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) vs. Buffalo
Jennings started the comeback campaign on the right foot, pulling in five receptions for 82 yards and a score on a stout Philadelphia Eagles defense. He gets the much less daunting Buffalo Bills at home in Week 2. Green Bay will also be without lead back Ryan Grant for the season, so a heavy emphasis on the pass may be in the offing. Look for Jennings to find paydirt while going well over 100 receiving yards in the Packers home debut.
Point Projection: 20 points
2. Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Chicago
Miles Austin showed that 2009 was no fluke, catching ten balls for 146 yards and touchdown. His 11 targets in Week 1 will be the norm for him all season which should be good news for all Austin fantasy owners. Dez Bryant actually led the team with 12 targets, but there’s plenty to go around in a pass happy offense. Austin has never played a snap against the Chicago Bears; however, you have to like his chances of matching his Week 1 outing against a suspect Bears’ secondary.
Point Projection: 18 points
3. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Arizona
White led all receivers with 23 targets last week, a ridiculous number but somewhat maintainable with tight end Tony Gonzalez as the only legitimate competition for looks in the passing game. Expect top five receiver numbers at the end of the year with that kind of touch potential. He leads the Falcons against the Arizona Falcons this week, who he has recorded 16 receptions for 167 yards against in two games.
Point Projection: 17 points
