Freak Out: Three Places Randy Moss Should Leave New England For
As we all know based on the post game interview yesterday, Randy Moss is not happy in New England. He wants a new contract and it is very unlikely that the Patriots will give it to him. Randy Moss said it himself that he considers this to be his last year in New England.
Randy Moss is one of the best wide receivers in the history of the game and is sure to be in the Hall of Fame someday. With almost 15,000 receiving yards and eclipsing the 1,000 yard mark all but two of his 13 seasons, he still is a great receiver. However, the Patriots are going in a different direction, and it seems to be without Moss. With Welker back and healthy and Julian Edelman a star on the rise, they seem to be going for a more consistent, reception based core rather than a down field deep threat. So, where does that leave Moss? Well, here are 3 teams that could really use his services.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
1. Washington Redskins
The Redskins made a lot of noise this offseason, acquiring Donovan McNabb and the struggles of Albert Haynesworth in the conditioning drill. A lot of people looked at the new look Redskins and said they can compete for the NFC East crown this season, but they still have one piece they are missing: a top wide receiver.
Right now the wide receiving core in Washington is not a top level core. They have Santana Moss as the number one receiver. This Moss might be good, but he just does not have the big play threat to be the go to guy. He has only had 1,000 receiving yards three times, and has never had more than 85 catches ever in a season.
They also have a huge target in Chris Cooley, but he is coming off a season where he had reduced production due to an injury early in the season. He is still trying to get back to 100% and until he does, he will not be able to produce at the level he is used to.
Bringing Moss in will bring them two things. The first thing is that he will give them a down field threat. Moss has always been a deep threat, and he can still run with the best of them down field, not losing any speed to his age.
The second thing he brings them is a type of target that McNabb is used to. In Philadelphia, McNabb had DeSean Jackson who is the type of receiver that Moss was early in his career. He had 9 touchdowns from McNabb last year, including a 71 yard bomb. With Randy Moss, McNabb will get a deep threat that he is used to and they will be able to get comfortable quickly on the field with one another.
2. Tennessee Titans
The Titans ended the last season on a roll, winning 9 of their last 10 and almost making the playoffs. They relied heavily on their superstar back, Chris Johnson, who ran for over 2,000 yards last year. They looked very impressive in their opener but, they are also looking for a number one threat.
The Titans receiving core is young to say the least. Other than Justin Gage and Nate Washington, there are no receivers with more than three years of experience in the NFL, and that could be a problem. Younger receivers tend to struggle a bit early in their carriers, and if Vince Young needs to rely on them every week, that could be a problem later in the season.
With Moss, he gives them a consistent receiver that Young can rely on when they want to pass. Also, the running game of Chris Johnson is a double edged sword because he can perform well and win them the game but if an opponent can shut him down, then there are not a whole lot of other options for the Titans offense. If they can get Randy Moss, then it gives them another option in the passing attack and forces the defense to not stack the box and prevent the run.
3. Oakland Raiders
Before Randy Moss became a Patriot, he first went from the Vikings to the Raiders. He only played there for 2 seasons and that was all he could handle there and left for the Patriots. He had one productive year there, and if he went back, he could have another. If the Raiders can land a high value target like Moss, it could be the final piece to the puzzle that they Raiders need to make a run to the AFC West crown.
The Raiders made a move and got a new quarterback in Jason Campbell. However, while they got a new quarterback, they did not do a whole lot to get him some quality receivers. He is surrounded by young receivers, and he needs a consistent threat to give him confidence and be the player that he was in Washington.
If Moss came back to Oakland, it could give them a legitimate number one threat, something they do not really have right now. Moss would surely like that, because he has always been one to say that he wants the ball the most. He does not get that in New England right now, so if he went to Oakland, he would be the absolute number one. Also, Moss would be able to be mentors to the young receiving core so that even after he left, his impact would be felt after he was gone.
