If Jason Kidd's on Strike, Where Will He Go?

Michael WhittenbergDec 6, 2007

Icon Sports MediaJason Kidd missed Wednesday's game against New York Knicks, complaining of a migraine headache.

There was no migraine, this was clearly his own way of sending a message to a franchise he's irate with.

Kidd willingly sat out, leading to speculation that he wanted a trade or contract extension.

Kidd has been upset with management and teammates for their lack of play.

Vince Carter is probably the one player he has been most unhappy with, because of his lack of energy this season after he got his contract extension.

When the Nets flew back from their game in Cleveland Tuesday, Kidd had already decided that he wasn't going to play, without even telling the team's officials.

After playing for Team USA this past summer, Cleveland is a destination that Kidd has repeatedly said he would love to play for, and have the chance to win championships with LeBron James.

The migraine brought suspicion to Nets officials, because they know he loves to rip the Knicks apart.

Kidd is 34-years-old and has been the hardest working player on the Nets this year.  Kidd is averaging a near triple-double this year, but the Nets as a whole have been terrible en route to a 9-10 record.

As unhappy as Kidd is, could New Jersey really trade him?

Let's say they do, what teams would be the best fits for him?

1. Cleveland Cavaliers: As stated earlier, Kidd would love to have the chance to play with LeBron James.  Cleveland would be willing to part ways with Larry Hughes in a minute, because he has clearly been a bust since coming to Cleveland.

Point guard Daniel Gibson could be another piece added to the deal.

2. Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers failed to get Kidd during the offseason because they hesitated in giving up young Andruw Bynum.

That is something the Lakers would have to live with, because Bynum will never be a great player, and definitely won't make the kind of difference that Kidd can.

3. Indiana Pacers: Probably the least most likely to happen out of the four.  But if Indiana were somehow able to keep Jermaine O'neal by throwing Danny Granger and Jamaal Tinsley in the mix, this would be a great deal for both teams.

4. Milwaukee Bucks: Throw Mo Williams, Desmond Mason, and Charlie Villanueva into a trade for Jason Kidd and what do you have left?

Kidd, Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut, and Yi Jianlian.

That would be one hell of a lineup in the eastern conference.

Although Kidd is unhappy, the chances of him getting traded this season are very slim.
