NXT Season Two Finale Review: All Diva Season Three and the New Nexus?
The WWE might have a new problem on their hands. At the end of the finale of NXT Season Two, after it was announced that Kaval was the winner, the eliminated rookies of Season Two attacked. Although it was a confusing brawl, at one point Alex Riley used his finisher on Percy Watson; it ended with Riley, Watson, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon, Titus O'Niel and Michael McGillicutty standing over a fallen Kaval.
I'll get back to that later but first I'll talk about the rest of the show. The final three rookies, Riley, McGillicutty and Kaval had a triple threat match that Riley won after stealing the victory from Kaval.
After the match, it was announced that Riley was eliminated. Riley cut a promo saying he was still the WWE's next breakout star.
Then Kaval and McGillicutty had a face-off, telling each other why they should win and why their opponent should lose. McGillicutty said the exact same thing that Riley said earlier and Kaval actually had a pretty good promo, even poking fun at his deep voice.
It was announced tonight that NXT Season Three would be all divas. The first diva announced was Naomi Night being coached by Kelly Kelly. Naomi, real name Trinity McCray, is the reigning FCW Diva's champion, so right now I'd list her as a favorite.
The next diva to be announced was Maxine, coached by Alicia Fox. Maxine, real name Karlee Perez, has been working as Liviana in FCW as the General Manager. Next was Aksana, coached by Goldust. Aksana, real name Zivile Raudoniene, is a former bodybuilder and fitness model, and has mostly worked as a valet as of late in FCW.
Jamie Keyes was announced to be moving from the ring announcer position and will be competing in Season Three. Keyes, real name Brittany Beede, will be coached by the Bella twins. Maybe they can teach her how to stay employed while doing absolutely nothing.
Primo will be the pro of AJ Lee next season. AJ, real name April Jeanette, is hands down the most experienced of the six divas and will most likely have the fans' support throughout next season. And lastly, to our collective dismay, Vickie Guerrero was announced as the pro of Aloisia, the 6'9" diva that WWE just recently signed. I want nothing more in this season than to see Aloisia crush Guerrero.
I think it's safe to say that the final three of next season will be Naomi, AJ, and Aloisa. The two people that will benefit the most from this show are Goldust and Primo, who will finally get some more TV time. It's just sad to see that divas like Gail Kim, and Natalya weren't used as pros.
Back to the closing angle. It has been said that Nexus, in it's current form, will end in October. Enter the season two rookies. Nexus: Version Two should be placed on Smackdown and run a muck there for awhile. All I wonder is if Lucky Cannon and Percy Watson can come across as heels, which in Cannon's case, I sure hope so because he sucks as a face. I just hope that Christian leads the charge for the Smackdown side.
Who knows what will happen with the new Nexus? Hopefully it won't just be a carbon copy of the first.
