Dale De SouzaJul 16, 2010

Tomorrow night, Gladiator Challenge promotion will welcome back a "Bad Man" to the cage when they present their "Patriots" event live from the Red Hawk Casino in Placerville, California.

Dave Huckaba, the former GC Heavyweight Champion, will make his return to the Gladiator Challenge cage as he prepares to face newcomer Mike Johnson in Huckaba's first MMA fight for GC since June of last year.

It's a return to the cage, but Huckaba is just ready to go to work.

"I don't know too much about him, but I heard he's a pretty good wrestler," The California native said of his opponent.

While little is known about Johnson, Huckaba knows how he wants to handle his opponent.

"I'll knock him out in the first round for sure," Huckaba predicted about his upcoming fight.

Huckaba will not be overlooking his opponent, but he will also be looking to get back the belt he never lost.

"I'm the heavyweight champion of Gladiator Challenge... Nobody ever beat me."

He was stripped of his title after choosing to fight outside of GC, which saw him take a fight in King Of The Cage after his last fight which was at GC's Validation event.

Unquestionably, the "Bad Man" will be looking to remind the Gladiator Challenge fans what he's all about when he makes his return to action tomorrow night.

Aside from the cage, those hearing about Huckaba for the first time will be comforted to hear that he is a family man with a son and a daughter, and he makes no bones about the values that he leaves with them

"They understand [whenever I lose a fight] that there's a winner and a loser in every battle in life and what makes you a warrior is that you don't keep your head down... you show up again and you don't quit on a loss."

A married man, Huckaba's twelve year-old son plays baseball, while his nine year-old daughter is already following her daddy's footsteps and getting into the sport herself, learning kickboxng and Jiu-Jitsu.

"We could have the next Gina Carano or [Cristiane] Cyborg coming up," Huckaba said of his daughter.

Huckaba proudly describes his kids as "his whole life" and really views them along with his wife as a continuing source of inspiration to him.

Whenever Huckaba is outside the cage, he coaches his son's baseball team and a kid's basketball team.

An active athlete since high school, Huckaba participated in football, baseball, and basketball in high school, and his ability in the cage is a good reflection of his athleticism.

He'll put this athleticism on display when he faces Johnson in a fight that might lead this exciting heavyweight to one of the "big two" in MMA.

"I've trained with Paul Buentello, I've trained with Randy Couture, I've trained with those guys and I know I'm at that level. I just have to get that opportunity... It's not what you know in today's society, it's who you know."

It truly is, Dave.

The man's trained with some of the greats in the sport, yet his name has yet to be recognized by mainstream fans of the sport.

By the end of "Gladiator Challenge: Patriots" tomorrow night, that may begin to change.
