Strange Goings on in the PGA: Justin Rose's Deja Vu at the AT&T National

Thomas MorelandJul 4, 2010

Was I not just here?

Am I feeling funny?

Last time I started a tournament with a sizable lead, I failed miserably.

These are the thoughts of Justin Rose, leader by four shots at the AT&T National Tournament, going into Sunday's final round.

The players behind Rose are all good enough to score well, so none of this hang on to the lead rubbish today, Mr. Rose.

Let's see a professional, and how a closer works on Sunday, doing what has to be done inorder to seal up a PGA Tour event full of quality players.

Carl Peterson will play with Rose, while one group ahead will be my pick to win this tournament as of Friday. They are Jeff Overton along with Charlie Wi.

Aaron Baddeley is in contention at minus four, along with Jason Day and Ryan Moore.

These are the players left that have a chance to win: Justin Rose, Carl Peterson, Charlie Wi, Jeff Overton, Aaron Baddeley, Jason Day, and Ryan Moore.

The Champoinship is down to seven players on Sunday.

As I am writing, Aaron Baddeley just bogeyed, and has dropped to minus three, and only has six holes left.

Make that just six players left.

My Yahoo fantasy Golf Team for this event, has gained a bit of ground from Saturdays action, but I still trail one Yahoo Expert, Matt Romig, by 88 points for the season.

I am ahead of all the other Yahoo Golf Experts for the season with 3791 points, 85th percentile, in the position of 22,161.

This week team had Tiger Woods, replaced by VJ Singh in round four, mercifully.

JB Holmes and Fredrik Jacobson were pulled for their bench back-ups in rounds three and four, which worked out well.

Bo Van Pelt and Robert Allenby scored well enough on Saturday to regain some points I lost the two previous days.

Even My C-player back up, Ricky Barnes chipped in points after a poor outing by starter Shaun Micheel.

The bench was very important this week, as all four reserves were put in at one time or another.

I see that Charlie Wi has just made a nice birdie to draw within three shots at minus seven for the tournament. Here we go Justin, here we go!

Justin Rose bogeyed number one. Wow! A two shot lead is all that's left quickly!

We will pick up the action on the back nine, just a bit later on this Fourth of July Sunday. Rose just managed a par on number two.
