Wrestler Michael "Trent Acid" Verdi Dies at 29

Former wrestling star Michael Verdi, who is better known as Trent Acid to wrestling enthusiasts, was found dead at his home in Philadelphia on June 18th.

Verdi's body was discovered by his mother at approximately 9:00 AM.

He was 29 years old and his death continues the startling trend of wrestlers dying at a young age.

The cause of death has yet to be determined but many speculated that it was a drug related death. This speculation stems from his arrest on April 2nd; on the charges of having heroin in his possession.

Other drug related charges were made in which he received a 23 month sentence and he also awaiting trial, on July 13, for his most recent charge.

For the majority of his career Verdi worked as a tag-team wrestler and is widely known as one half of the The Backseat Boyz, with Johnny Kashmer as his partner. 

On June 18th, Johnny Kashmer posted a Facebook status update, reflecting his friend death:

"I cant believe i'm typing this....Trent Acid my best brother for life, has passed away. he was found at his home this morning around 9am by this mother. i have no info now and i can barely stand up, will know more soon....keep him and everyone in your prayers please this is horrible. I love you trent RIP"

Michael Verdi made many independent promotions such as Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Unplugged, Combat Zone Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Juggalo Championship wrestling. 

Michael Verdi won twenty five wrestling championships, in his various wrestling associations, before his untimely death.
