2010 FIFA World Cup: Robert Green Shrugs Off Mistake, Not Even Saying Sorry
Ten minutes after the final whistle of the England-USA game Robert Green said he had already put his costly blunder behind him.
The goalkeeper from West Ham made a monumental cock-up five minutes before half time in England's opening game.
He was unable to hold a hopeful shot from Clint Dempsey. He let the ball slide off of his gloves and then scrambled after it, but was unable to get to it before it went over the goal line.

Green's mistake ultimately cost England the full three points as they drew 1-1. It was lucky for him that Steven Gerrard had scored in the first few minutes of the game.
He is refusing to get too downhearted by the experience, and insists he will not dwell on the error.
In a post-match television interview he said:
"It's done, it happened.
"It's not something you can allow to affect yourself.
"In the next 50 minutes, I felt confident, I felt fine.
"It's about being steady and taking the rough with the smooth, but that's life as a goalkeeper.
"I've been in this situation before and it's about holding your head up high, facing you guys (the media), taking the flak which is going to come. That's life."
Sorry?
I can see that he is trying to put all of this behind him, and try to keep his spot in goal for the Algeria game on Friday, but where was the apology?
This wasn't a Paul Robinson moment. There was no bobble; there was just no basic goalkeeping skill.
I would forgive him if he said two simple words—I'm Sorry, but he didn’t. Now I am worried that he doesn't care for the millions of us back home hoping for that glory.
It is now up to Capello to decide if there is trust in him. If not, there are two other goalkeepers just as good as Green ready to fill his position.
