A Fan's Perspective: The Monday Night War Is Just Beginning

Ed_CapMay 2, 2010

I kinda read a few articles about how the draft gave Raw a star struck roster and is now aiming to destroy TNA. They say that the Monday Night War is about to end. Well no offense to those fans, but WWE is finally noticing TNA. Isn't that a good thing?

Think back on the original Monday Night War. WCW was formed during the 1980's and Eric Bishoff took control in 1994. The NwO angle started in 1997. The was a lot of time given to Eric Bischoff and his antics to build and really take WWE to the cleaners.

And also think about this, WCW has a big roster that promises wrestlers of big paycheck but never really get them over. Superstars like Steve Austin, Brian Pillman, Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero finally had enough and moved to WWE.

Sounds familiar?

I think the War is just starting with WWE finally looking at TNA as a threat. With all the star power on Raw now, TNA really has to step up and shine even brighter.

Agreed, TNA rushed into going head to head with the WWE (thanks Hogan) and they are still too small of a company to really go up with a giant but criticizing every move that TNA makes is not really helpful.

TNA is actually doing good right now despite all the attack on Hogan and TNA. Those critics are actually the same people that watches on a weekly basis because they also know that TNA is just starting and they are itching for something good to happen. Their fan base is growing thanks to the help of former WWE athletes. They're actually doing good in pay per views, no more will you see a Jeff Jarret/ Kevin Nash fiasco. And this is the best part, WWE is actually concerned now.

WWE is at its weakest now in my opinion. Granted, they have fans on a global scale and they are now aimed on a more PG fan base but WWE has set limits for themselves now. "Extreme" is no longer a word they want to be associated with, and its a good thing because injuries really gives a major drawback. Batista alone had so many, its really frustrating that he is a main eventer.

The global fan base is also a draw back for WWE. People are asking TNA to travel, but think about it. Raw has Mondays on different states and they also have tours at the other parts of the word. That's exhausting and you can't expect a 100% out of the WWE superstars which is kinda disappointing if you watch the program every week.

Meanwhile Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson tore the house down in a cage while Chris Jericho and Edge failed to meet our expectations. The tour is also why the Raw brand was stranded on Europe while RVD was crowned the new champion. Which show did you tune in?

So as fan, I am excited. I am more excited than January 4. Because the War is really just starting.

Thank you for reading. Comments/Opinions/Profanity/Flaming is very encouraged. hehe.
