EPL: James Collins' Twitter Feed Deleted after Apology for Loss to Chelsea
The Twitter feed of Aston Villa defender James Collins has been removed this evening , following a recent update the centre back posted about the 7—1 loss to Chelsea.
He wrote, “So sorry to every Villa fan after that appalling display. I’m embarrassed to call myself a footballer after that rubbish…sorry.”
The defender’s honest assessment of his side’s defeat seems to have fallen foul of the club’s public image policies and at some point on Monday (29th March), his account was removed.

Collins is not the only footballer to have found himself in hot water for comments made on the social networking site.
This summer, Darren Bent’s outburst angered Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy but eventually engineered his move to Sunderland, whilst Mark Bright had to apologise after posting up terrace chants regarding John Terry’s private life.
It remains to be seen whether Collins’ Twitter feed will return, but for now fans will have to make do without another link to the world of the professional footballer.
