🚨Sabres Force Game 7 vs. Habs

Ovechkin-less Caps sweep by Panthers 7-3

Mark ButerbaughMar 17, 2010

The Washington Capitals were without the best player in the world, the Great 8, Alexander Ovechkin, as he sat in the press box enjoying nachos and beer, serving the first of a two game suspension.  The Caps aren't supposed to be very good without Ovechkin.  Isn't that what we are told constantly by the media? Yet without Ovechkin this season, the Caps are 7-2 without Ovechkin, and averaging over 4 goals per game during those 9 games.  I think it is time for the media, hockey blogs, and analysts to recognize the Capitals are great with Ovechkin, but pretty damn good without him too.

The Caps declawed the Panthers on their home ice by a score of 7-3 and completing a 6-0 series sweep of Florida.
