Crosby Finds Gold, But Has Anyone Found The Puck?
The country can breathe a collective sigh of relief; Sidney Crosby's stick and missing glove have been found. The stick was on its way to Russia, specifically to the IIHF Hall of Fame. The glove, found in the equipment bag of Team Canada teammate Patrice Bergeron. However, lost in the shuffle of all the lost equipment is the location of the puck that Crosby slid between the legs of Ryan Miller in overtime to secure gold for Canada. Where's the puck?
If you watch closely in the seconds after Crosby scored the iconic goal, you will see a linesman fish it out of the net. From there, it gets a little greasy. There is not a camera angle that shows where the puck ends up as it is taken off the ice. The Hockey Hall of Fame will not confirm of deny whether they are in possession of the 'golden puck'. Common sense would suggest that if the HHOF did have the puck, they would say as much. Seemingly, not having the puck would be the only reason to be cryptic about it. Hockey Canada has also remained tight lipped about the whereabouts of the puck. So if the Hall of Fame doesn't have the puck, and Hockey Canada doesn't have the puck, then who does? It seems the HHOF and Hockey Canada are attempting to locate it as quickly, and quietly, as possible.

Sidney Crosby's missing gear proved to be a convenient distraction, but now that Sid's stick and glove have been found, the public's attention is bound to turn to the puck.
In the coming days, as public pressure mounts to find the rubber piece of hockey history, there is no question the HHOF and Hockey Canada will be forced to address the issue. The only question is whether they can find the puck between now and then.
