2010 NFL Draft: Kansas City Chiefs' First Round Pick May Be a Shocker
When all is said and done, don't be surprised if Ndamukong Suh winds up in a Chiefs uniform next season
No way?
It's funny—people said the same thing when the Chiefs drafted Glenn Dorsey in 2008, also at pick No. 5. Dorsey was considered by many as the best player in the draft that year too.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If you look at the top four teams selecting in the draft, it may be easier to understand.
St. Louis
We all know that the Rams need a QB badly. Sam Bradford may be a medical risk, but what if the doctors give him the thumbs up? St. Louis has not drafted a quarterback in the first round since 1962. They can't wait for Round Two. This draft is deep at the defensive tackle position.
Do you take a chance on Bradford? If those MDs concur with a thumbs up, the Rams may have to.
Like Kansas City, Detroit needs a lot of help. Defensive tackle was considered a need, but two days ago Detroit traded two of their draft picks to Cleveland for 320-lb. Corey Williams. With Detroit having a huge need at safety and on the corner, Eric Berry could very well be their pick. They also love Russell Okung
Well, they want a defensive tackle, but which one? Gerald McCoy fits perfectly with Tampa Bay's scheme. They need a penetrating three-technique. McCoy makes more sense than Suh, and most scouts have McCoy ranked No. 1 anyway. What matters is what the scouts say, not some blog.
The Redskins would be tempted to take Suh, but they are in desperate need of a blind side pass protector at offensive left tackle. They have their shot at the best, whether that be Russell Okung or Bryan Bulaga. Protecting the QB is priority one in Washington. The run on left tackles will be over by Round Two.
Where does that leave Kansas City?
It leaves them with Ndamukong Suh, the Chiefs' new starting nose tackle. Believe me, he is big enough and strong enough for that spot.
But there remains another possibility: What if Kansas City trades down?
By trading down with San Francisco at that point, they get San Francisco's two first rounders, picks No. 13 and No. 17.
Suddenly, the Chiefs have four draft picks in the first two rounds. For a team that is going to fill almost no holes through free agency except backups, it's the only way they can go.
Four picks could yield four starters, and that could go a long way. If not, you still have the most dominating player in the draft, just as Dorsey was in 2008.
Will this happen? Probably not.
Could it happen? Yes, it could.
