WWE vs. TNA...The Aftermath and What's to Come?
Yesterday marked the beginning of the TNA vs. WWE wrestling wars, and it seemed that TNA pulled out all the stops.
They opened the show with Hulk Hogan and Abyss coming out to a roaring crowd. Abyss with some new ring gear, and a red and yellow A on the back of his shirt.
They called out Flair and Styles and started the match. Which lasted only about three minutes simply because Hogan and Flair couldn't wrestle more than that without having to grab their oxygen tanks.
Then Sting comes out, and once he didn’t hit AJ or Flair right away, you knew that he was turning heel. Which, of course, he did by blasting Hogan and Abyss with the bat.
They brought back Daniels finally, which was a good move. He faced Kaz (aka Suicide) and Doug Williams for the X Division title.
All in all good match, although I would of liked to see Daniels win the title.
Shannon Moore then comes out and cleans house, and is announced to be the challenger at Destination X for the title.
I don't know too much about his wrestling skills except that in WWE he was pretty much worthless.
One other thing that was absolutely horrible was Brooke Hogan’s acting; I’ve seen better acting from a dead horse.
RVD also made his debut against Sting, which was very short-lived. All the time that they took having Sting waffle RVD and then Hogan with the bat, they could of taken that time and put it toward a decent match between RVD and Sting.
And at the end they had Hogan & Abyss vs. Flair & Styles Part 2, with Hogan hitting the leg drop picking up the victory. Then we see a brawl between all them plus Desmond Wolfe and The Pope finally seeing Jeff Hardy making his long-awaited dsince the Jan 4 episode.
WWE, however, also put on a good show I thought, I’m not going to go into too much detail like I did with TNA, otherwise this article would be 10 pages long.
But with Criss Angel hosting, you had a good little confrontation between Undertaker and Michaels, adding a no DQ/no count out stipulation to the match.
The divas match was worthless, except for just being eye candy (much like the beautiful people on TNA.) The only 2 divas that i actually care to see wrestle, is the Glamazon Beth Phoenix, both beautiful and dangerous, also Gail Kim.
HHH punked out Sheamus which was nice. The whole speech he gave about Wrestlemania was awesome, very intense.
Then they wrap up the show with Cena having to run a handicap gauntlet. First against Kozlov, then Drew McIntyre, followed by Mark Henry, then came Batista putting the final nail in the coffin with the Batista bomb for the three count for Mr. McMahon.
Overall WWE had a good show but i personally think TNA was a little better.
But that brings me to my next point, you could compare TNA and WWE to sex, with TNA being the young in-experienced teenager and WWE being the older more experienced adult.
TNA sort of blew their load early and all at once. Now how are they going to top it next week?
They have already brought in all their new superstars, which I think the reason for getting rid of all these different superstars and knockouts, is so they can afford to pay fat contracts to people like Jeff Hardy and RVD.
But as I was saying TNA pulled out all the stops for that first night and now what?
The WWE on the other hand, being the more experienced of the two still put on a good show but didn't go all out.
Now next week they got Stone Cold Steve Austin hosting, and are having rematches from previous Wrestlemanias, which is going to top this past weeks show by far if you ask me.
So all in all, TNA went above and behind all expectations and now where do they go from here? They peaked!
I end this article with a quote from Good Old J.R., and TNA should listen up.
He was asked if he thought TNA would put WWE out of business? and his answer was
"Hell, no. WWE likely won't be dented by TNA and WWE shouldn't be TNA’s obsession. TNA should just worry about improving their brand and making more money and producing more compelling TV. WWE is way too strong and too well organized to be noticeably impacted by anyone in today's marketplace in pro wrestling."
