March Madness: Big 12 Conference Tournament Prediction
Where are we going to be seeded going into the Big XII Tournament?
Over at Spence Park Soapbox last week, Ag In_TX looked at how the seeding would shake out for the Big XII Tournament.
Several games have been played since then, so let’s use this handy tool to predict how things are going to shake out.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Going into Saturday, the standings will look like this:
1. Kansas (14-1)
2. Kansas St. (11-4)
3. Missouri (10-5)
4. Baylor (10-5)
5. Texas A&M (10-5)
6. Texas (9-6)
7. Oklahoma St. (8-7)
8. Colorado (5-10)
9. Texas Tech (4-11)
10 Oklahoma (4-11)
11. Iowa St. (3-12)
12. Nebraska (2-13)
There are six Big XII regular season games remaining.
Texas @ Baylor
Tech @ Colorado
Iowa State @ K State
Kansas @ Missouri
Nebraska @ OSU
A&M @ OU
On Saturday, I like Colorado, given that Tech doesn’t have a ton of talent and the altitude is a big factor. Kansas State shouldn’t have any trouble with Iowa State at home, and Oklahoma State should take care of Nebraska in Gallagher-Iba.
If Kansas State somehow faltered against Iowa State, and Missouri pulled off the big upset against Kansas, the picture would look different...but don’t count on it.
The only games that could potentially affect our seed are our game vs. Texas, A&M @ OU, and Kansas @ Missouri.
Here are the eight possible ways the seeds could shape up based on those games, and the applicable tiebreakers .
Baylor beats Texas, A&M beats OU, Kansas beats Missouri:
3. Baylor (11-5) – defeats A&M based on Big XII South record
4. A&M (11-5)

5. Baylor (10 – 6) – defeats A&M based on Big XII South record
6. Texas A&M (10 – 6)
Needless to say, winning on Saturday makes the math look a lot easier, and we’d get the coveted first round bye. Call me crazy, but I am not optimistic at the prospects of taking down Trader Rick three times in one season, which we’d have to do if we win Saturday.
