Calling All Gm's, What Should The Raiders Do in The Draft?
If you were in charge of the Oakland Raiders draft this year which players would you like to select and what positions do you feel fit the biggest needs for the team?
Do you feel the team needs to be in control of the line of scrimmage more, and therefore should upgrade and provide depth both on the offensive and defensive lines; or maybe improve the linebackers and secondary? Would you dare choose a quarterback in the later rounds of the draft hoping for a diamond in the rough?
Remembering yesteryear when players such as Jim Otto, Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Dave Dalby, Howie Long, Bill Pickel, Greg Townsend, Lyle Alzado, and Reggie Kinlaw among others dominated the game via the line of scrimmage. Looking back more recently, the playoff teams of 2000, 2001, and 2002 had pro-bowlers in Steve Wisniewski, Lincoln Kennedy, and Barrett Robbins that allowed Gannon and company to control the game.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
What about grabbing a cornerback or safety that could challenge the current starters, minus Nnamdi of course, and make this secondary a playmaking beast like it was during the 70's when George Atkinson, Willie Brown, Jack Tatum, and Skip Thomas patrolled the airways? Or how about during the Raiders run in the early 80's when Lester Hayes, Mike Haynes, Vann McElroy, and Mike Davis wreaked havoc on opposing teams as they became two-time super bowl champions?
Quarterback insurance? Joe Montana, Dan Fouts, and Fran Tarkenton were third-round picks, and Tom Brady was a sixth-round pick. Maybe a middle-round draft pick on a quarterback could strike gold for us?
The time is now critical for the Raiders to make a move, and the 2010 draft will have a huge impact on how the team fares this coming season, and in the years to come. So grab your best GM hat and let's get started- the Silver and Black are on their way back!
