For Reals??? My Little Thought On The Men Moguls - Winter Olympic 2010
A side note: This is not a well written article as far as I'm concern (I copied it out of my facebook notes just for your information). However, it speaks my mind so hope you enjoy =) So here it goes . . .
Well, honestly, i never cared much bout the winter Olympics... i mean like yeah, Vancouver..yay? Never really paid much attention to winter sports till like a few days ago when I was "incidentally" watching the Men Moguls Final.
Personally this is what i think...

I'm utterly disgusted by how the Canadian media trying to tarnish an athlete's image just because he left Canada for good (and with legit reasons). It literally being sour and childish for goodness sake..He owns a business and is a self-made millionaire and all you can say is owh apparently it smells fishy and he's doing all this sneaky stuffs.
Conveniently enough people left out the fact he's this bright young chap with immense talent in sports and much much more with his mind. He started his business like when he was 15??? Rarely heard of any Olympian doing that before.
And sheesh! People saying he's a guy w/o emotions and doesn't like the media. It's like a kid who doesn't get an ice-cream and say to his friend the ice-cream sucks... cmon, he doesn't need the media because he doesn't need to lap up to the sponsors and what not. Is it wrong if someone dislikes sharing more than one wants to the public? You have all the celebs you want to suck all the juicy gossips from and here there is this guy just want a private life and you are like owh he's like a loner etc.. The only thing i can say is get a friggin life!

A young lad wanted to pursue a life in sports and with a career and YOU said oh no, we need you to be 100% committed to us. He MADE a choice and I dont see anything wrong with it. He had faith he is able to juggle both worlds and he OBVIOUSLY did. Australia gave him the opportunity to do so and then he went on and won Gold in Turin. I bet the Canadian team was pissed.. well, what can I say? You gave him a choice and he made his.. so suck up to it!

After reading some comments on this matter, I actually agreed to some of them. It's rare you see athletes that doesn't need sponsors and what not. I'm assuming his funding himself in this so the point is, what's bad about that? The friggin media is making it sound like it's uncool and not the normal thing to do. He's not flashing gold in your face, he's just sustaining his own passion. And I think that show the level of commitment he has for the sport! I remember coming across an article where his rep for the Aussie team noted that he and his brother sleeps, rides and eats at the same damn location as their teammates. Being financially independent shouldn't be seen as a weakness but I should say a determination that people should look up to. And btw, whats wrong with owning a lambo??? Tiger owns maybe a dozen?? sheesh!

I dunno much bout mogul but if he was disappointed getting a silver. Let him be! Who says its wrong to be disappointed when you're aiming for the best??!! should everyone just settle for a silver just because u think you cant get a gold? where's the spirit of the Games??? There's this girl skiing for Canada who ended up with a silver after the final run for USA. Not seeing people scathingly saying bad things about her?? People have emotions so let them expressed in ways they see fit!
I know many people think im nuts for this but clearly it's my opinion on this matter..After watching him ski, i actually felt like whoa, skiing sounds cool...His story portrays a deep passion for the sports itself which makes it more genuine and admirable. For some reason, i think watching him compete was the one of the most memorable moments i had for the winter games ( not that i watch alot LOL). . and still don't. .
