Duke Blue Devils Welcome Virginia Tech To Cameron Indoor with 67-55 Victory
It’s got to be nice to return to the comfy confines of the Cameron Crazies after squeaking out a tough road victory over Miami.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski and his Duke Blue Devils came back to Durham for Sunday’s game with Virginia Tech, riding the Crazies and a late home team surge to a 67-55 victory over the Hokies.
“I’d like to have other people score—that’s an obvious thing—but what I want to do is win, and not let [a lack of] scoring impact in a negative way ... our defense and rebounding,” Krzyzewski told Duke’s official athletic site. “One of these games, we’re just going to break out. ... Those three players are really good. As long as they keep playing well, you’ve got to go with what you've got, right?”

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Leading the Blue Devils in scoring were Kyle Singler (25 PTS, 10 REB), Nolan Smith (23 PTS, 3 REB), Jon Scheyer (15 PTS, 7 AST, 3 REB) and Brian Zoubek (3 PTS, 16 REB, 2 AST).
“Our offense, at times, hasn’t been good this year, and the one thing we do know is that we’re not an unbelievable offensive team where we're just going to put 90 points up,” Scheyer said. “We know we need to do it with our defense. That’s okay if, at times, our offense isn’t going well because we rely on our defense.”
Coach K and his Dukies return to the hardwood on Thursday, Feb. 25 when the Blue Devils host Tulsa in a non-conference matchup.
“Honestly, we’ve showed this year that we can shoot bad; it’s going to happen,” Duke’s Smith said. “Most years, we might lose those games. We might let that affect our defense or rebounding. But now, we’re not letting that happen.”
