Who Has Been the Most Disappointing Team in College Basketball?
Each year, there are plenty of college basketball teams that don’t live up to their expectations.
In 2009-2010, there are a few teams that come to mind when you think of disappointment. Their struggles have raised many questions throughout the season about why they have not been able to be successful, but I ask another question:
Just who has been the most disappointing team in college basketball this season?

NCAA Tournament Expansion Official 🚨

UConn's STACKED Schedule ☠️

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
North Carolina: 14-13, 3-9
From a national championship last season to the preseason No. 4-ranked team in the country to a 14-13 record. It has been quite the disappointing season for the Tar Heels. Granted, they did lose most of their production from a season ago, but it just hasn’t been there for the Tar Heels and their highly touted freshmen.
Washington: 17-9, 7-7
They started the season at No. 13 in the nation, now the Huskies are on the verge of missing the NCAA Tournament. With the exception of Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas, scoring has been tough to find in Washington.
Connecticut: 15-11, 5-8
They have played a tough schedule and certainly have the talent to beat anybody on any given night, but did anyone think UConn would be 15-11 at this point in the season? It is now or never if the Huskies want to save their season.
Michigan: 13-12, 6-7
The Wolverines had some preseason expectations for the first time in a while. Michigan folded, and barring an unseen run in the Big Ten Tournament, won’t make the NCAA Tournament. Certainly a tough year for John Beilein’s squad.
Oklahoma: 13-12, 4-7
It wasn’t going to be easy to replace Blake Griffin, and even his brother Taylor Griffin for that matter, but the Sooners started the year off ranked and just have never found any rhythm. They do have five guys averaging double figures in scoring though.
UCLA: 12-13, 7-6
Everyone knew that the Pac-10 was going to be down this season, but did anyone think UCLA would lose to Cal State Fullerton or Long Beach State? For the expectations the UCLA basketball program has, this is a year to forget.
Others:
Minnesota (15-10, 6-7): I thought Tubby Smith would be dancing this season.
Boston College (13-13, 4-8): They only lost Tyrese Rice from a team that made the NCAA Tournament last year; what a loss that turned out to be.
LSU (9-17, 0-12): They didn’t have the highest expectations, but Tiger fans certainly didn’t expect LSU to be winless in the SEC.
Arizona (13-12, 7-6): Is there NCAA Tournament streak about to be snapped?
Bonus:
Bryant (1-26) and Alcorn State (1-25): Obviously there wasn’t much to be expected from these smaller schools, but nobody would like to have these records under their belt.
Different fans have different expectations, but who do you think has been the most disappointing team in college basketball?
