Oklahoma City Thunder Are Growing Up Fast
The Oklahoma City Thunder are that one team that NBA fans have filed away deep in that drawer. For the most part, they are known to be that team that Kevin Durant plays for and loses quite a bit.
Don’t look now, but the team that had just three wins and 29 losses at this point this season, is already sitting at 17-14.
The sports gambling community should hop on board quickly as the Thunder have covered five straight games and have covered 20 of 31 contests. Whatever the regular season win total for this team was at Sportsbook.com (Sportsbook.com reviews), the Thunder are already approaching it.
As mentioned, the Thunder have 17 wins already this year. Last year, it wasn’t until March 8th that this team won 17 games. The Thunder have won four straight games, which is the franchise’s longest winnings streak in nearly four years.
In addition to the growth of a number of very talented young players, defense has been a big key for the Thunder. They have 17 wins this season and in 14 of them, they have held their opponent to fewer than 100 points.
Internet sports betting cappers know that the Thunder are led by Durant but they may not realize how good he really is. He is the NBA’s fourth-leading scoring but he does a lot more than just that. The 21-year-old – yes, he is only 21 – is averaging 28.4 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, 1.4 three’s per game and even 0.8 blocks per game. Is there anything he doesn’t do? In December, Durant is averaging 29.6 points per game.
He’s received a lot of help though as both Jeff Green and Russell Westrbook are growing up quickly. Green is providing 14.6 points per game and six rebounds while Westrbook is averaging 16.2 points per game and seven assists.
With a lot of other young players like rookie James Harden, Thabo Sefolosha and Eric Maynor contributing, this is a very good lineup.
The Thunder are a good looking young team and while their lineup is a bit small right now considering Durant is the starting power forward and Nenad Krstic is the starting center, they still create plenty of matchup problems because of that exact lineup.
The Thunder are currently a half-game out of the playoffs but if they keep this up, they could be one of the biggest surprises in the NBA by the end of the season. Sports handicapping sharps should be backing this team until the rest of the league finds out just how good they are.
