Why 2010 Can Be So Promising...
With the Royal Rumble about a month away.....wrestling fans can't help but to start thinking about this coming Wrestlemania, and if it will be any better or worse than the one that preceded it. Already Wrestlemania26 will be lacking star power with two superstars that are no longer in the WWE: John Bradshaw Layfield, and Jeff Hardy. Both solidified main eventers, and both are guys that can add severe credibility to any pay-per-view matches, card, etc.
However always, around the Survivor Series, there are match ideas for Wrestlemania, and this year they did not disappoint. Two matches that right off the bat, make Wrestlemania 25 look like Breaking Point: Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart, John Cena vs The Rock. Granted the HBK/Hart match is a stretch, for one moment, let's say he agrees to wrestle Shawn. You have Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart, a world title main event from almost 15 years ago, in the midcard....the midcard, if that's the midcard, imagine the main event. John Cena vs The Rock, another midcard match. Triple H everyone knows will be in the WWE title match, probably against Sheamus, which in it of itself is a great main event, and then there are rumors of Randy Orton vs Ted Dibiase, or Kofi Kingston, which is another great match.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
In my opinion, whoever doesn't face Orton, ie Ted or Kofi, should win Money in the Bank. If you look at this card though, compared to the last couple Wrestlemania's, WWE has done what many in the IWC have thought would take years, created the face of the new generation in Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, and Sheamus, as well as stars on the cusp of reaching that glory, guys such as John Morrison, Tyson Kidd, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Zack Ryder, to name a few, which if WWE plays their cards right, can all be promising players in the WWE for many years to come.
It is the thought and the idea of a bright new group of talent, the new generation, to take the place of the elder group, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Big Show, all older guys whose careers are like a trickle of sand in an hourglass, withnot too much time left. With that in mind WWEdid what it had to in order to replace them so to speak, and I am confident that these guys, along with more experienced talents, like John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, CM Punk, MVP, etc. can direct WWE into a new era in WWE, an era unlike we have seen before, an era of almost entirely 21st century wrestlers.
2010 is the second decade of the 21st century, and many of the 20th century superstars have been faded out in WWE, outside of Triple H, HBK, Undertaker, Edge, Christian, Kane, Rey Mysterio, and now the returning Bret Hart, I'm not sure there are too many more big, prominent names that were around in the 20th century. Look at the main event today: John Cena (2002), Randy Orton (2002), CM Punk (2006, in WWE), Sheamus (2009), Batista (2002), and the guys up and coming, the superstars I named earlier, all debuted in 2006 at the earliest, all guys from this decade.
My only fear is, with the Monday Night Wars likely returning, many guys in WWE don't know about that competition, and may falter. Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Edge and Christian are the only names who were in WWEwhen they came from behind to win the war with WCW. So with all of this in mind, WWE in 2010 and beyond, looks promising, and here's to the potential of a new era in WWE, and to many great careers really taking off this year to come, Happy New Year's everybody.
