Hot Seat Cooled, Saints Get Fooled.
New Orleans v Dallas. Set to be one of the great December matchups of this year, it was the 13-0 New Orleans Saints who tripped up Saturday Night in a close but unusual loss to the Cowboys.
Dallas, fresh off a two game losing streak, headed into New Orleans the clear underdog. What many people believed to be the “Game that will make a champion”, Dallas came into the Superdome all guns blazing, as they quickly took a 7-0 lead from a 49 Yard TD catch completed by a Romo to Miles Austin play early in the Cowboys first starting drive. Dallas quickly added to that scoreline, by stopping Brees and the Saints dominant offense 3 Consecutive times. Marion Barber was the next to break the plain, as he added to the Cowboys dominance with a 6 Yard Touchdown run late in the middle of the first quarter.

The game then went on to get busy, as Romo was sacked for the 3rd time in the second quarter, and an Interception from Drew Brees to Jenkins stopped any chance of the Saints scoring early.
Dallas went into the half with smiles, as the Superdome was quiet, for the first time this season. The third quarter proved much the same, as Marion Barber added to his Touchdown list of the night, with another impressive run to make the score line 24-3. Dallas had executed well all game, and limited Brees and the Saints offense so much that it seemed like they rarely had the ball. Another impressive side to this game, was the fact that despite Romo’s sack count, he was playing incredibly well as he constantly found his buddy Miles Austin wide open and waiting to make big plays all game long.
The 4th quarter was the true test for Dallas, as the Saints had been dead in previous games, and of course had fought back. 14-0 was on the line, and Reggie Bush knew it. Even though he was on the sidelines for the majority of the game with a hamstring injury.
New Orleans fought back, and did so in their usual fashion. Brees and Colston finally came alive, and the score was reduced to 24-10. The Dallas defense showed signs of weakening, as Brees found Moore open and scored a TD with 8 minutes to go in the 4th.
The rally was on. Number 9 vs. Number 9, even though Romo was the better one of the two in this game. Dallas fans then saw a familiar scene, as Folk missed a 24 yard Field Goal that could have sealed the deal for the Cowboys.
With 12 seconds left in the 4th, Brees was rushed. However, this time he didn’t go down. A forced fumble by none other than the Big D himself gave Dallas their first November win in 12 years, and put a dampener on Saints fans hopes of an undefeated season.
