On The Sixth Day of Christmas, the Detroit Red Wings Gave To Me...
As kids (and maybe some adults, I'm not trying to crush any dreams here) eagerly await the gifts provided by a jolly fat guy in a red and white suit, I thought of another group of guys in red and white that could make my Christmas especially joyous.
From Dec. 14 to Dec. 25, I will mimic the pattern of the 12 Days of Christmas song by asking for one thing on the first day, two things on the next day, and so on until Christmas.
But, as this is the season of giving, I'd love for all of you to give me your thoughts on what you'd like from the Red Wings for Christmas, so please, post away!

Now, this is something the Wings really don't have the ability to give, so this is something I want for them as much as for myself.
Six straight games without an injury
Really, at this point, could anything else be better?
So far this season, the longest the Red Wings have gone without losing a player to injury is five games.
The Wings have six more games left in the month of December. Shortly after the last, they should be ready to welcome back injured players Valtteri Filppula, Dan Cleary, and possibly Jonathan Ericsson.
So long as no one else goes down over these next six games, their return(s) have a great chance of having the positive impact everyone hopes they will. The Grand Rapids call ups can return to the AHL, and Detroit's roster will start to look a bit more familiar.
However, if the Red Wings had the power to avoid injuries, certainly they would have exercised it by now.
...five players clicking on the power play, four wins in a row, three solid periods of hockey every game, two defensemen scoring, and a dominating performance by Pavel Datsyuk!
