Bochum 1-5 Bayern: Is Everything as Rosy as It Seems at FC Bayern?
Following a 4-1 drubbing of Juve midweek in the Champions League, Bayern weren't exactly expected to thrash Bochum. However, just when you don't expect Bayern to show their true faces, they somehow do.
Bayern came out with all guns blazing and made it clear to Bochum that they weren't even going to get a point; the only thing Bochum could do was stop their goal difference from worsening.
And so it happened: Gomez started off the rout following an Ivica Olic cross. Unable to deal with a Bayern cross, Bochum's Mavraj scored an unfortunate own goal. Olic scored the third after a beautiful ball from Schweinsteiger and he also scored the fourth from an accurate Badstuber cross.

The fifth goal for me really stood out. Lahm proved to the world why he is—if not the best—one of the best fullbacks in the world by dribbling past half the Bochum players and playing a nice through-ball to Pranjic.
Daniel Pranjic's beautiful strike—his first for Bayern—will live in my memory for quite a while.
Christian Fuchs scored from a freekick for Bochum.
Bayern's defence still has a few holes which needs to be fixed. A double save from Hans Jorg-Butt was one of the greatest I have seen in a while. Bayern really have to offer him a contract extension despite his age.
The German media have named the partnership of Olic and Gomez, "Golic".
Louis Van Gaal couldn't be happier.
Yet, Luca Toni has said that there are more chances of someone winning a lottery than of him staying at FCB.
Rumours about a move to Hamburg for Miro Klose are spreading thick and fast: Andreas Gorlitz could leave in January due to an injury he never quite managed to recover from; Michael Rensing will be on his way out and I can't remember the last time I saw Hamit Altintop play.
Last season, due to lack of depth, our team suffered a lot, especially at the hands of Barcelona and Wolfsburg. Van Gaal should remember that the squad needs depth and his happiness will be short lived unless the squad is strengthened. So far, the only transfer news to come out recently is that Bayern are tracking Philippe Senderos of Arsenal.
Klose or Toni, one of them has to be kept.
Toni has his heart set on a return to Italy, so Van Gaal should try to keep the Polish born German at his disposal. Andreas Gorlitz will be of help in the future and so will Altintop. If Rensing goes, we will be short of keepers.
Everything seems to be all too familiar to the end of last year.
Bayern did well in the Champions League throughout last season, but things in the Bundesliga started to look rosy at this time of the year. They went in at second position in the winter break despite spending some time at eleventh position in the table. We all know what happened in March....
Van Gaal should know better. Let's hope he doesn't get carried away with his team due to their current winning run. Another thing that Bayern need to look to is their match photos. Their were just too many pictures of Olic and Gomez.
Next week, Bayern play Hertha Berlin. The last time Bayern played the team from the capital, they lost 2-1.
