It's Not Just Sheridan
After watching Sunday's game, changes must be made to the Giants defense.
Their defense let the Eagles score too many points, and that's why the Eagles celebrated a 45-38 victory against the Giants.
Everyone saw this coming. Donovan McNabb has played his best against the Giants in recent years, and this game was no different. McNabb knew who to throw to, and he was accurate on nearly every pass he threw. The Giants made it look easy for him.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
DeSean Jackson torched the Giants secondary all night long.
Come to think of it, most of the Eagles offensive unit had great nights, so it was not just McNabb and Jackson.
The Giants defense has a way to make everyone look good from the other side. It's surprising to see how bad teams struggled against them earlier this season, and those teams at least had an offense that can score points.
That unit has not been the same since the Saints game. It's no crime for the Saints to score against them since they do it to every team, but every team except the Cowboys figures out a way to execute their game plan on offense these days.
It's easy to go blame Bill Sheridan, but at some point, it's time to realize the players are maybe not what they used to be.
It's a novel concept to think about. They look a step slow, and they can't tackle or contain an offensive player.
Maybe Steve Spagnuolo realized that so he took a coaching job in St. Louis before his stock as a coach would go down if he remained as the Giants defensive coordinator. Why else would he take a head coaching job in a bleak situation?
Jerry Reese will be looking for some men on defense next year, and he should.
He needs guys who can strip the ball, create interceptions, and stop the run. Most importantly, these guys need to show some toughness when it comes to defending.
Based on what we have seen for the last several weeks, these guys look over-matched when they play speedy teams, and the Eagles demonstrated that in their two meetings against the Giants this season.
Moves need to be made whether it's in the draft or some unheralded trades for this to stop. The Giants can't sit there and say it's an aberration, especially when the book is out on how to beat them.
This defense certainly can't get Giants fans to be optimistic about winning a playoff game at this point.
The Giants still have a chance to make the playoffs, mainly because they have an easy schedule the rest of the way along with the face that the Cowboys are sputtering like they always do in December. The Vikings can be seen as an obstacle, but don't look for Brad Childress to use his starters in what will likely be a meaningless game for his club.
Then again, Tarvaris Jackson could have some fun in that game, so there's no guarantee.
At this point, the G-Men likely will make the playoffs as a sixth seed, and that means playing the NFC Champs at Glendale. Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, and Anquan Boldin will be salivating at that prospect, which will mean one and out for Big Blue.
Someone will take the fall for a disappointing season. Sheridan is that guy, but with that said, a change in coordinator does no good if he doesn't have the players.
More has to be done besides firing the defensive coordinator.
