Houston Rockets: Look Who's Talking Now…

Denton RamseyDec 5, 2009

It looks like the Houston Rockets are back on a roll, especially after the team’s come-from-behind 111-109 victory over Golden State on Thursday night.

Down double-digits midway through the fourth quarter, the Rockets mounted a furious comeback and sealed the win with clutch shooting and free throws.
And oh yeah, a guy by the name of Shane Battier recorded a season-high six blocks (to go along with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists) in Houston’s wild win.
"This is the first time I’ve felt good in a long time," Battier told Rockets.com staff writer Jason Friedman. "I felt springy last night against the Clippers and felt springy here tonight. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt good, so hopefully I can continue to feel good. The main thing is jumping. I haven’t been able to jump the entire year, that’s why I’m averaging two and a half rebounds a game. I’m just moving better, and for me if I feel good, I play well."

The recent West coast swing has been sweet to the Rockets, winners of three straight heading into tonight's showdown in Portland.

Nineteen games into the season, Trevor Ariza (18.1) and Aaron Brooks (17.1) lead Houston's scoring charge, with Carl Landry (15.9) and Luis Scola (13.9) also averaging double-digits.

Scola has also been a monster on the glass, grabbing almost 10 boards a game and averaging a tad over seven offensive rebounds; Brooks, meanwhile, is dishing off assists at an average of 5.6 per game, while Ariza is averaging 2.21 steals per game.

Chase Budinger and Kyle Lowery have also been beasts for the Rockets on the bench, with both players averaging over eight points a game.

Houston head coach Rick Adelman has to be smiling entering game number 20 of the young season tonight in Oregon.

With Brooks returning to the state that learned to love and adore the former Duck over his four-year reign wearing those bright green and yellow clads, look for the Rockets to keep on rolling.

Tonight's road matchup with the Trailblazers will be a test for Houston, there's no doubt about it.

But right now, the Rockets are on fire; and I believe Adelman's club is going to come out ready and firing as they aim to push their streak to four...
