Why Chelsea Should Break The Bank To Sign Sergio Aguero
The signs are obvious, and although Ancelotti refuses to confirm anything official, we all get the basic idea of the truth. He "likes" Sergio Aguero.
Chelsea can see the talent of Aguero, and have probably been observing him for a few years. Hell, we can all see the class he has, his movement, touch and work rate are all something to behold. He oozes the class of a thirty year old at the peak of his powers, yet this young man is a mere twenty-one.
Two touches of the ball against Chelsea was all he needed to stop them, making their mighty defence look like their job was obsolete.

However, even before this Chelsea was already very interested and had already placed a gargantuan bid to secure his services in the summer. With Atletico in the Champion's League, it wouldn't have made any sense to sell him just before he could show the world his true value and possibly help the club move a step up. It was a gamble most clubs would have taken.
Since then however, a poor run of results, a replacement manager and mounting debts are all issues that sit heavily on the minds of those in charge at Atletico. Without money to stamp his authority on the squad, Quique Sanchez Flores will probably not mind if Aguero were to leave—one less forward, 3-4 new players. The board however, understand there would be uproar amongst the fans if Aguero were to be sold.
This doesn't do much to change the financial situation, or the fact they are still being sucked into a relegation battle. Aguero himself is determined to "help get Atletico out of this situation,"; the best way to do that in the long run—if the offer is right—may be to move to West London.
Now another bid is in the offing, and reports that were supposedly leaked from Atletico have described a transfer deal that could cost Chelsea a whopping one hundred million pounds—with the money roughly split between Atletico's compensation fee and Aguero's contract.
The figures are silly, but they have been for the last 10 years, and especially in the past year. Chelsea are a clever financial institution and they will know the benefits of having Aguero in their ranks—in their history books.
Shirt sales will go through the roof and global recognition will go up—a new chance to entice thousands more foreign supporters. They will been an even more attractive proposition for top class players and coaches for years to come.
And then when they see him on the pitch, they will realise they got him cheap.
