Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts – 11/9/09

Ryan LesterNov 10, 2009

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.

Jared Dudley, Phoenix Suns
22 minutes, 18 points, 6-for-7 FG, 2-for-4 FT, four three-pointers, five rebounds, one assist, three steals.

Dudley had a nice little outburst here, but isn’t consistent enough at this point to trust.

Marreese Speights, Philadelphia 76ers
30 minutes, 20 points, 8-for-13 FG, 4-for-5 FT, eight rebounds, one assist.

We spoke about him yesterday in the Fantasy Hoops Waiver Wire Bin article (click here to read ). He's been the Sixers' best big man, and should be owned in all leagues.

Wilson Chandler, New York Knicks
33 minutes, 17 points, 8-for-15 FG, one three-pointer, 10 rebounds, two assists.

Chandler had been pretty mediocre since the opener so it’s nice to see him have this big game.

Larry Hughes, New York Knicks
41 minutes, 12 points, 3-for-12 FG, 6-for-8 FT, five rebounds, five assists, four steals, two blocks, two turnovers.

Hughes was also mentioned in the Waiver Wire article. His shooting was suspect, but his contributions in multiple categories were very beneficial to his fantasy owners.

Toney Douglas , New York Knicks
23 minutes, 21 points, 9-for-14 FG, three three-pointers, two rebounds, one assist, two steals, two turnovers.

It’s Toney’s second nice scoring game. Fantasy owners are taking note. Personally I’d still hold off on adding him at this point.

George Hill, San Antonio Spurs
36 minutes, 22 points, 8-for-15 FG, 6-for-9 FT, two rebounds, five assists, one steal, two turnovers.

Hill is a nice short-term fill-in while Tony Parker is out.

Matt Bonner, San Antonio Spurs
34 minutes, 18 points, 7-for-16 FG, four three-pointers, four rebounds, two assists.

Bonner had done very little before tonight’s outburst. Don’t expect this performance to be routine.

Sasha Pavlovic, Minnesota Timberwolves
30 minutes, 17 points, 7-for-14 FG, three three-pointers, six rebounds, three assists, four turnovers.

I don’t put much stock in numbers from 41-point losses.

Kelenna Azuibuike, Golden State Warriors
29 minutes, 31 points, 13-for-19 FG, 2-for-3 FT, three three-pointers, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block.

Anthony Morrow, Golden State Warriors
37 minutes, 20 points, 7-for-10 FG, 1-for-1 FT, five three-pointers, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, two turnovers.

Anthony Randolph, Golden State Warriors
30 minutes, 23 points, 8-for-14 FG, 7-for-8 FT, seven rebounds, three steals, three blocks, two turnovers.

The top performers seem to rotate each game, but as long as they are part of the rotation, they are worth owning.

Devin Brown, New Orleans Hornets
30 minutes, 25 points, 8-for-14 FG, 4-for-4 FT, five three-pointers, five rebounds, two assists, three steals, one turnover.

His performance came out of nowhere, so naturally make him do it a few more times before you consider him.

Ricky Davis, Los Angeles Clippers
25 minutes, 14 points, 6-for-13 FG, 1-for-4 FT, one three-pointer, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block, two turnovers.

He’s only worth adding as a short-term solution if Eric Gordon (groin) continues to sit.
