Saturday Recap
Tottenham are still not guaranteed a top-four finish after suffering their 12th Premier League defeat of the season.
Pochettino made four changes to his team, presumably with one eye on Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Ajax:
The hosts did have chances to open the scoring in the first half. Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen both forced goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski into saves, while Lucas Moura flashed a shot just wide.
However, Spurs laboured after the break as West Ham improved and picked up their first away win since December.
The Hammers broke the deadlock on 67 minutes when Michail Antonio controlled a ball from Marko Arnautovic off his chest and fired past Hugo Lloris:
Pochettino sent on strikers Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen in search of an equaliser. The Dane came the closest to levelling in stoppage time with a header that was cleared off the line by Fabian Balbuena.
West Ham held on for a deserved victory in which they notched an impressive landmark:
The defeat means Tottenham remain in third, but they have work still to do in their final games against Bournemouth and Everton to secure a place in the top four.
Cardiff's hopes of staying in the English top flight are fading after a demoralising defeat at Craven Cottage.
The visitors had an appeal for a penalty turned down in the first half when Sean Morrison went down after a challenge from Aleksandar Mitrovic:
Ryan Babel proved to be the match-winner with a superb goal after 79 minutes. The Netherlands international smashed a shot into the top corner from just outside the penalty area.
The visitors did press for an equaliser in the closing stages. Junior Hoilett was denied by the crossbar with a late shot, while goalkeeper Sergio Rico preserved the clean sheet with a fine save from a Morrison header in stoppage time.
Cardiff's defeat meant Brighton could effectively seal their Premier League survival with victory over Newcastle at St James' Park.
However, the visitors put in a poor first half and deservedly fell behind when Ayoze Perez smashed home a shot after a knockdown by Salomon Rondon:
The goalscorer was forced off just after the half-hour mark with an injury he had picked up before his goal and was replaced by Kenedy.
Perez's strike was the only shot on target in the first half, but the hosts were comfortably the better team against a disappointing visiting side lacking in fight.
Brighton improved after the break and levelled with 15 minutes of normal time remaining. Bruno's cross from the right was met by Glen Murray, who headed to Pascal Gross for a goal past Martin Dubravka.
Chris Hughton's men pressed for a winner in the closing stages and might have clinched it when Anthony Knockaert crossed for Murray, but he could only head over the bar from close range in stoppage time.
The point means Brighton move four points clear of the drop zone, but the 17th-placed side face a tough end to the season with games against Arsenal and Manchester City.
