Cincinnati Bengals Fans Should Be Ashamed of Themselves: Part Two
Another week, another Bengals extension to sell all non-premium tickets to avoid a local black out .
It was less than three weeks ago that I wrote an article bashing Bengals fans because they had not sold out their home game against the Houston Texans. Not selling out the non-premium seats means that the folks at home will not be able to watch the game on TV. No, not even if you have the Sunday Ticket from DirecTV.
I was slammed in the comments with various reasons for the non sell out.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
One was, "Bengals fans aren't turning out because of Mike Brown. We support the team and want the team to win, but see no reason to spend our hard earned money to line Mike Brown's greedy pockets." (http://bleacherreport.com/users/89087-ryan-shrout ).
Another comment was, "The Chicago game is looking to be a great one and that game's sold out RIGHT NOW, regardless if the Bengals go 5-1 or 4-2." (http://bleacherreport.com/users/163329-bob-easy ).
And yet, even another comment was, "I will just say this, it's not about the tickets or Mike Brown to truly go to a game it cost well over $100 dollars per person the best seat is in my living room were I get hd tv and the best seat in the house." (http://bleacherreport.com/users/103139-glenn-price ).
I see Glenn Price as the most honest one of the bunch. Unfortunatly for Glenn, if those seats are not sold, he will be watching another game instead of the Bengals one.
The fact is, once again, the Bengals are in danger of a local black out, while they are tied for first place in the AFC North. The Bengals have made the playoffs one time in the last 20 years. They have finally fielded a team that play BOTH offense and defense.
But, again, the fans in the Queen City are not supporting their team.
Last time, Chad Ochocinco and Motorola purchased the final 1,200 tickets, and gave them to charity, so the fans at home could watch the games. Do you expect him to bail you out again?
Look, Bengals fans, as far as I am concerned, don't buy any more tickets. Maybe it is because you don't want to support the owner? Maybe it is because you don't think it is going to be a good game? And maybe, just maybe, you do think that the prices are not worth the seats?
The fact is, tickets all over the country are expensive. It doesn't stop the fans in Oakland from selling out home games, and it doesn't stop fans in Miami from selling out.
I just did a search for tickets, and here are the prices I came up with,
National average: $75.
Cincinnati: Under $65.
I know you are not used to having a team that competes every week, but this is the time you are supposed to be showing support for your team. Now, as they embark on the second half of the season, is when they need the stadium packed.
From this point on, if Bengals fans are not going to support their team, then they have no right to complain about the teams performance. No longer can they complain about the teams draft or off season moves. And no more, can you complain when your team does not do good.
I am going to let you in on a little secret. LA has just approved the construction of a new NFL stadium. Some team is going to be playing there in the next few years. Right now, most of the talk is about Jacksonville. Trust me when I tell you, don't think you are immune to losing your team.
No one in Cleveland ever thought the Browns would leave, and they were selling out all of their games. If you don't start supporting your team, don't be shocked when you don't have a team anymore.
