Recap

There's a reason Harvick is called "The Closer"—and it was evident on this night.

After winning the pole during qualifying, Harvick placed second during each of the two stages. Down the stretch, he managed to hang around near the front without allowing anyone ahead of him to pull away.

Although he started the race in first, he had to battle all night. Despite leading for 79 laps, it was not until about a lap-and-a-half remained that he took control of the race for good.

It marked the fifth time in 11 races that the No. 4 car found Victory Lane. As NASCAR on Fox noted, it's the second straight race Harvick has won.

Ryan Blaney may not have been able to beat out Harvick during qualifying, but the No. 12 car got the best of the No. 4 early on at Kansas Speedway on Saturday. After starting up front, he nabbed the playoff point by winning Stage 1.

Larson, who started the race in 22nd, managed to work his way to the front and win Stage 2, his first stage victory of the season:

He managed to lead a race-high 101 laps before finishing in fourth.

Amazingly, it took 236 laps for a caution due to contact to come out:

As seen in the footage, the leader, Larson, was in danger of getting caught up in the mess. He was able to get through the track unscathed, though. He did, however, lose the lead shortly after the restart.

After Harvick took the lead, contact between Larson and Blaney forced a caution.

Although the accident did not severely damage the No. 42 car, a pit-road mishap caused Larson to tumble down the leaderboard. Blaney would finish 37th after having to bow out early.

Logano held the lead coming out of the caution, with Truex Jr. hot on his tail. But the red flag was brought out with 14 laps to go when a collision between William Byron and Clint Bowyer took out seven cars.

Fortunately, everyone involved in the accident was able to walk away. But that doesn't mean the drivers didn't feel the effects of the wreck.

What was a fairly clean race turned into a caution-filled finish. With that, it led to plenty of drama down the stretch.

Truex Jr. and Logano started up front following the restart, and from there, it was a nine-lap race to the end. The No. 78 car got off to a fast start, but in the end, it was Harvick who found a way to pull through.

Now the attention shifts to next weekend's All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
