La Liga Results 2018 Week 37: Final Scores and Updated Table After Saturday
Gareth Bale scored a stunning first-half brace to send Real Madrid on their way to a 6-0 win over Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in La Liga on Saturday.
Real won, but last season's champions won't finish higher than third after neighbours Atletico Madrid made sure of second thanks to a 1-0 win in Getafe.
Fourth spot belongs to Valencia, who had Luciano Vietto to thank for a 1-0 win in Girona. Los Che won't finish higher than fourth, but returning the club to the UEFA Champions League in his first season is a terrific achievement for manager Marcelino.

Bale got his first after 13 minutes when he nudged a shot in off the post after being played in by former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Luka Modric. It didn't take long for Bale to better his first strike; he added his 18th goal of the season on 30 minutes.
The Welshman controlled a long ball with a deft touch before flicking it round a defender, sprinting clear and finishing emphatically from distance.
Even so, there are still some who feel the 28-year-old is not up to the standard for Real, a sentiment Goal's Ben Hayward rightly rejected:
Andrew Gaffney of Yahoo Sport UK also poured cold water on the idea Los Blancos should be looking for a replacement for Bale:
Isco and Achraf Hakimi added goals for Real before Celta defender Sergi Gomez's own goal 16 minutes from time. Toni Kroos capped the scoring with Real's sixth nine minutes before the end.
Earlier, Atleti went in front after just eight minutes when Koke found the net after being played in by Antoine Griezmann. A textbook Atletico rearguard action followed for the next 82 minutes, as the visitors defended bravely and in numbers.
Getafe weren't without threat, though, and should have drawn level from the penalty spot. However, Faycal Fajr was denied by Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who has been imperious when facing penalties this season, per Squawka Football:
Valencia's defence was also stubborn in ensuring Los Che left Girona with all three points. The hosts have had an outstanding debut season in La Liga, but they couldn't find a way past a back line led superbly by Jeison Murillo.
Their defensive performance meant the visitors were only ever one chance away from a win. It came just after the hour mark, when Vietto found space and fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Predictably, the derby between Betis and Sevilla was an intense, back-and-forth affair at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Marc Bartra put Betis in front, but Wissam Ben Yedder equalised 12 minutes after the restart.
Sevilla thought they had all three points in the bag after defender Simon Kjaer found the net. Yet there was still time for 24-year-old forward Loren Moron to draw Betis level again.
The rescued point owed a lot to the endeavour and craft of veteran winger Joaquin, with WhoScored.com naming the 36-year-old as the game's standout player:
Villarreal raced into a 3-0 lead at the Riazor thanks to a brace from Samu Castillejo and a goal by Manu Trigueros. A Borja Valle brace put Depor on the brink of a comeback before Denis Cheryshev finally secured the win for the Yellow Submarine deep into stoppage time.
In another local derby, Alaves beat Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao 3-1 at home. John Guidetti, Munir El Haddadi and Ibai Gomez all got on the scoresheet for the hosts, while the visitors could only manage a goal from Iker Muniain in response.
OptaJose noted how the defeat gave Athletic an unwanted piece of history:
Athletic's rivals Real Sociedad saw off Leganes in a five-goal thriller at Anoeta. Mikel Oyarzabal and Sergio Canales put the home side 2-0 in front before Leganes battled back.
Goals from Diego Rico and Miguel Angel Guerrero made it 2-2, but Sociedad were awarded a penalty 12 minutes from time when Juanmi was felled in the area. Willian Jose was unerring from the spot to give Sociedad every chance of a top-10 finish.
Eibar remain a point ahead of La Real in ninth after beating Las Palmas 1-0 at home. The winner came after just five minutes, when intelligent attacking midfielder Fabian Orellana played in 34-year-old striker Charles to score.
Barcelona's bid to finish the season unbeaten will continue in Levante on Sunday, giving the Madrid clubs and Valencia another chance to see how far they have to go to bridge the gap to the champions next season.
