Rules: UEFA have assigned every European league a difficulty rating between one and two, which is multiplied by a player's goal tally to calculate his overall points total.
For example, Messi and Salah's goals are worth two points apiece as that is La Liga and the Premier League's difficulty rating, but Jonas' goals for Benfica are worth just 1.5 points each due to the corresponding rating of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Before Messi got on the scoresheet at the Camp Nou, Cristiano Ronaldo had taken his tally to 25 La Liga goals for the campaign.
He cancelled out Luis Suarez's opener when he converted Karim Benzema's downward header from close range, enhancing his excellent record in El Clasico:
After the break, Messi got in on the act to restore Barca's lead when he picked out the bottom corner following a counter-attack.
With Ronaldo already on the scoresheet, it proved a landmark goal for the pair, per Squawka Football:
Gareth Bale denied Barcelona the win, but a draw maintained their unbeaten run in the Spanish top flight.
Meanwhile, Lewandowski edged closer to 30 Bundesliga goals as he scored from close range in Bayern's 3-1 win over Cologne.
Should he reach the tally in Bayern's final match of the season, he'll become the first player since Gerd Muller to do so for three consecutive years.
Icardi scored for the fourth game in a row as Inter Milan beat Udinese 4-0. He latched onto a superb ball from Marcelo Brozovic before firing into the bottom corner. It was a milestone effort, per Dugout:
It has been the most prolific campaign of the Argentinian's career, and he'll have two more chances to enhance his tally further before the end of the season.
Messi has three more matches in which to extend his lead, while Salah has just one more Premier League match with Liverpool. Unless the Reds star can do something spectacular, the Barcelona man should have the Golden Shoe wrapped up for the second year running.
