
Puerto Rico Crowd Erupts as Hometown Star Francisco Lindor Launches Home Run
For fans in Puerto Rico, it doesn't get much better than seeing local hero Francisco Lindor hitting a home run. That is exactly what he did Tuesday in front of his hometown fans:
The Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins are playing their series at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and they were treated to a show as the Indians star broke the scoreless tie with a two-run homer in the fifth inning.

Per ESPN Stats and Info, he is the seventh Puerto Rican player to hit a home run in this stadium during a regular-season MLB game but the first since 2003.
Lindor competed for Team Puerto Rico during the World Baseball Classic and made multiple trips back to the island during the offseason to help in the recovery after Hurricane Maria.
He was already a hero to the fans in attendance, and his long ball Tuesday only helped his legend grow.
