Pep Guardiola Reportedly Agrees to Record New Contract at Manchester City
An outstanding 2017-18 campaign has Pep Guardiola on the verge of becoming the highest-paid manager in the world.
According to Simon Mullock of the Mirror, Manchester City and the coach agreed to a one-year extension. He will be paid £20 million annually. Guardiola was signed through next season on his original deal but will be under contract until 2020.
Manchester City failed to clinch the Premier League title Saturday with its loss to Manchester United, but the club is still 13 points clear with 84 points in 32 matches. United is in second place and also has six league matches remaining.

Guardiola has led City to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, though it's in a precarious position, down 3-0 to Liverpool after the first leg.
The 47-year-old, who has also managed Barcelona and Bayern Munich, was hired in 2016 after the Sky Blues finished fourth in the Premier League. The club improved to third place last season before taking complete control this season.
Based on Guardiola's success at virtually every level as both a player and a manager, Manchester City felt he was worth securing for at least another year.
