Two men's basketball programs with a plethora of tradition advanced to the Final Four Sunday.

No. 1 Villanova joined No. 3 Michigan and No. 11 Loyola-Chicago in San Antonio with a 71-59 victory over No. 3 Texas Tech in the East Regional final.

No. 1 Kansas became the fourth and final team to clinch a spot in Saturday's Final Four with an 85-81 win over No. 2 Duke in an epic Midwest Regional final in Omaha.

Although it won by 12 points, Villanova experienced a good amount of struggles throughout the contest. The Wildcats shot 33.3 percent from the field and converted on four of their 24 three-point attempts.

Despite not establishing a rhythm, the top seed in the East produced impressive plays in clutch situations to pull away from Texas Tech.

National Player of the Year candidate Jalen Brunson led the Wildcats with 15 points, and he also contributed six rebounds and four assists.

One of his top handouts came in the first half on a drive into the lane in which he fed Mikal Bridges for an easy slam in the paint.

In the second half, the Wildcats benefited from a few momentum-changing dunks, including a jam from Omari Spellman, who didn't make much of an impact in the first half because of foul trouble.

Guard Donte DiVincenzo, who finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, sent the crowd into an uproar with a pair of flashy slams, the first of which extended Villanova's advantage to 11 points with 10 minutes remaining in the second half.

Six minutes later, as the Red Raiders started to inch back into the game, DiVincenzo followed a miss by Bridges and timed it perfectly for a rim-rattling dunk.

Brunson secured the victory for the Wildcats with just over a minute left, as he backed down a defender on the left side of the paint and cashed in a layup to open up an eight-point gap.

Once the final buzzer sounded, the Wildcats let out a boisterous celebration, as they clinched their second Final Four berth in three years.

Kansas and Duke traded barbs in an electrifying affair to close out the weekend's March Madness schedule.

The top-seeded Jayhawks appeared to have the upper hand at the start of the second half, as they opened on an 11-3 run capped off by Lagerald Vick's three-pointer from the left corner.

However, Duke answered the challenge on countless occasions by knocking down a large amount of key shots, including a three-point basket from Gary Trent Jr. that gave the Blue Devils the lead with 5:53 left in game.

Kansas went cold from beyond the arc in the closing stages of the second half, but it came alive at the perfect time, as Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk drained a game-tying triple to send the game into overtime.

Duke had an opportunity to win the game in regulation, but Grayson Allen's layup attempt rolled out of the basket.

In overtime, Malik Newman took over for Kansas, as he scored all 13 of the Jayhawks' points in the extra period.

Newman's most important shot came with 1:49 remaining in overtime, as he handed Kansas a three-point advantage with a three-point basket.

The transfer from Mississippi State knocked down four crucial foul shots at the end of the game to trigger a celebration years in the making after Kansas fell in the Elite Eight in back-to-back years.
