
Dwyane Wade, Anthony Rizzo and More Athletes Participate in #MarchForOurLives
A number of professional athletes, former athletes, sports executives and coaches participated in the "March For Our Lives" rallies across the U.S. on Saturday in an effort to urge lawmakers to enact gun reform to help prevent mass shootings occurring at schools.
NBA players Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony donated money to help send children to the march, according to ESPN.com.
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo—a graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed in February—was in attendance at a rally in Florida.
Former NBA players Steve Nash and Bill Russell also showed their support:

And Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons wore a blue "March For Our Lives" shirt before the team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
"For me growing up in Australia, I think there was a gun ban way back in the day where they bought back the guns, and there hasn't been any major shootings and no one carries around guns," Simmons said, per ESPN. "You want kids to feel safe going to school."
