SEC Tournament 2018: Bracket, TV Schedule, Dates, Live-Stream Info

Joe TanseyMar 3, 2018

The SEC has been one of the most entertaining conferences in men's basketball this season, and it has one more chance to showcase its brand of basketball during the SEC tournament.

Auburn and Tennessee enter as the top seeds, while Florida and Kentucky are also in good position to claim the SEC crown in St. Louis, Missouri.

In addition to the intrigue of the top four teams, the SEC contains a wide array of bubble teams that have the potential to wreak havoc in the NCAA men's basketball tournament if they get hot.

How Much Will Kentucky Improve Its NCAA Tournament Seed?

Kentucky is a team that will receive plenty of hype over the next few weeks because of the high-profile talent on its roster.

Before Saturday's loss to Florida, the Wildcats won four consecutive games to put themselves in better position to earn a high seed in the Big Dance.

Kentucky doesn't possess a wealth of lottery talent like past years, but it contains a star in Kevin Knox, who has the potential to take over games by himself.

However, the issue with the Wildcats is their youth, and that's been one of the biggest issues in the growing process, but head coach John Calipari's team appeared to have things figured out during the four-game winning streak.

With the confidence gained from the last few weeks, the Wildcats should be able to earn the SEC's automatic bid and earn as high as a No. 3 or No. 4 seed on Selection Sunday.

The biggest thing for Kentucky's psyche will be a win over Tennessee in the final, which will avenge two losses to the Volunteers in the regular season.

Chaos Expected for Bubble Teams

The middle of the SEC has produced all sorts of unexpected results, and the same is expected at the SEC tournament.

Alabama and Mississippi State are in the most danger of missing out on the NCAA tournament, while Texas A&M and Missouri are looking to improve their seeding for the Big Dance.

The SEC teams closer to the bubble will take center stage Thursday, as the second round weeds out the contenders from the pretenders and sets the winners up with matchups against the top teams in the league.

Texas A&M and Alabama go head-to-head in Thursday's opener, while Mississippi State faces a must-win game against LSU in the night session.

Although Thursday is going to be a huge day for the confidence of the bubble teams, Friday is important in terms of earning quality wins, as all four of Thursday's winners have a chance to make noise.

However, that task will be more difficult than expected, as the top schools in the SEC look to make a statement ahead of the Big Dance.
