Vaultier for Gold, Pullin to take Silver
As a former world champion and a two-time World Cup winner, Pullin has the pedigree to take a medal in Pyeongchang. His fellow Australians, Adam Lambert, Jarryd Hughes and Cameron Bolton, all have strong cases.

Pullin fell at the quarter-final stage at the 2014 Sochi Games, despite entering those Olympics as a favourite. He'll do better this time but should ultimately miss out on gold.
Vaultier is entering the Games in fine form. Earlier this month, he defeated Michele Godino in his final cross race before the Olympics, per the Associated Press (h/t CBC.ca).
The 30-year-old has the experience needed to handle the slopes and negotiate the banked corners on the toughest tracks. He proved as much four years ago when he took gold in Sochi.

Vaultier is a good bet for gold this time, but Jonathan Cheever will still be a contender for the podium for Team USA. Meanwhile, Russian athlete Nikolay Olyunin, a silver-medal winner in Sochi, will also be involved.
The field may be strong, but Vaultier still looks like the class of the riders. As long as he avoids a sluggish qualification time, Vaultier will put himself in a good position to complete the run ahead of the rest.
