The Hardy Boyz' return, The Shield's reformation and Kurt Angle's return to the ring have all garnered more attention than what The Bar was doing. Never mind that it was Sheamus and Cesaro who played the foil each time, serving as the overwhelming obstacle in the way of all those heroes.
That trend continued on Monday's Raw when Sheamus and Cesaro dethroned Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in the night's main event.

The New Day showed up, teasing another invasion from SmackDown. The group's presence distracted the champs enough for The Bar to take advantage. A Brogue Kick from The Celtic Warrior proved to be the decisive blow. Sheamus and Cesaro walked away victors, champs, the team now set to represent Raw against The Usos at Survivor Series on Nov. 19.
But the buzz was about others.
The promise of a clash between The New Day and The Shield was a hot topic of conversation online. As was how and when Raw will punch back against SmackDown.
PWTorch's Wade Keller didn't even mention either Cesaro or Sheamus in his analysis of Monday's main event or in the final thoughts for the show overall.
That's nothing new. The attention has been on the other guys, but one can't discount how good this team has been.
Sheamus and Cesaro have developed an impressive sense of cohesion over the past year. It's hard to remember they were once enemies and then two guys forced into a tag team. They are now a jelled unit. They are warriors with matching smashmouth styles who look to be having plenty of fun.
Miami Herald columnist Scott Fishman has taken notice:
And at every step, Sheamus and Cesaro have excelled between the ropes.
When The Hardy Boyz lost their grip on their titles, they were having solid matches against The Bar. When Ambrose and Rollins joined forces again, it was the two European bruisers who made that moment bigger by way of stellar bouts. When Angle wrestled for WWE for the first time in 11 years, Sheamus and Cesaro were right there, steady hands thriving in the background.
The new Raw tag champs have been on an impressive stretch in terms of star ratings from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t the Internet Wrestling Database) in their last three pay-per-views:
- The Bar vs. The Shield: SummerSlam (4)
- The Bar vs. The Shield: No Mercy (4.5)
- The Bar, Braun Strowman, Kane and The Miz vs. The Shield and Kurt Angle: TLC (4.25)
They are set to keep that roll going. Sheamus and Cesaro have a date with The Usos at Survivor Series. And although there won't be as much hype around that contest as there would have been had Rollins and Ambrose been involved, history says The Bar will come through.
A physical whirlwind is on the way and Raw's reigning tag team will do the red brand proud whether they get the credit for it or not.
