Sonny Gray Trade Conversations Reportedly 'Heaviest' with Yankees
The Oakland Athletics' trade discussions regarding pitcher Sonny Gray have been "heaviest" with the New York Yankees in the last two days, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
On Saturday, ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick reported the Yankees don't plan to part with No. 1 prospect Gleyber Torres or ascendant corner outfielder Clint Frazier if they do wind up completing a deal for Gray.
FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman confirmed Crasnick's report and added the Yankees could still facilitate a trade because they have prized prospects in Jorge Mateo and Estevan Florial, among others.

If the two sides can agree to terms, the price for Gray figures to be on the richer side even if Torres and Frazier stay with the Bronx Bombers.
Through 16 starts this season, Gray is 6-5 with a 3.43 ERA, 1.175 WHIP and 8.7 strikeouts per nine innings. A 3.13 strikeout-to-walk rate is also good enough for the second-best mark of Gray's career.
Gray is also under team control through 2019, which means he should command a fairly significant return as the Yankees attempt to bolster their starting rotation following Michael Pineda's season-ending elbow surgery.
Citing a source, the New York Post's Joel Sherman reported Saturday that Gray is not expected to make his scheduled start Sunday as the A's aim to avoid a possible injury prior to Monday's non-waiver trade deadline.
