Andy Robertson, Liverpool Agree to Contract After Hull City Transfer
Liverpool have agreed a contract with Andy Robertson to complete the defender's transfer from Hull City. The Reds confirmed the left-back signed a long-term contract after completing his medical on Friday, per Sam Williams of the club's official website.
Robertson underwent his medical at the club's academy base at Melwood before putting pen to paper on terms, per Williams. The Scotland international told the club's site moving to a club as big as Liverpool is a dream: "There's not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid, you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool, and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me."

Aside from revelling in the move, Robertson also pointed out how he's anxious to prove he merits making the step up from relegated Hull to a team expected to challenge for this season's Premier League title: "I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and go on to do good things for this club."

Robertson will likely get every chance to prove his worth at Anfield. He should go straight into the starting XI as an upgrade at left-back over both converted midfielder James Milner and the disappointing Alberto Moreno.
Signing a contract brings to an end a protracted transfer that has seen the Reds secure Robertson's signature in a deal worth up to £10 million, per Miguel Delaney of The Independent. It's a fee some believe is a steal.
Among them, Hull Daily Mail writer Will Jackson (h/t James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo) believes Liverpool ought to have paid more: "The journalist felt a price tag similar to that paid for defender Harry Maguire, who left Hull this summer to join Leicester City for a reported £17 million, would have been fairer."

The difference in how his value is perceived shows how effectively Liverpool have negotiated a bargain signing in Robertson.
He will add much-needed balance to a suspect back four last season, but one that must be better as manager Jurgen Klopp prepares to take the Reds back into the UEFA Champions League.
